Default HELP- I have 2 Nissan extended warranties!

So I bought a 2006 350z roadster a few months ago and the 3year/36k warranty was expired already. I went and purchased an extended warranty through Nissan which is their prefered plus warranty. Today i found out that the person I bought the car from already purchased the 72months/100k warranty. Now I have 2 extended warranties on my car. Can I get a refund on the warranty I purchased, and how long does it take to transfer the warranty the original person to my name? How can Nissan can not know about this and still sell me an extended warranty.

Just call Nissan and cancel yours, its pro-rated, you should get 90-95% of it back!

they're service contracts, not warranties. you can't legally "buy" a warranty. they're probably sublet out to two totally different companies so they wouldn't have any idea. our transfers have a 15 day window from change of ownership. find out which one covers the most and cancel the other one. if you need any advice, hit me up, it's my job.

State laws are differant in each state.LOOK at what you signed. If it doesn't seem to go in your favor.check the local law.

man i fallen into that trap for extended warranty too when i got my car from the dealership.. after a few month i realized i was dumb enough to actually spent $2k on this crappy deal "just in case" something might break. The contract state that i have to cancel it in 4 years, IN WRITING, and send it to the address on the contract...

Is there any other way out of this? I dont care if i can get $1k back, thats going toward my car payment right away.

Note to self: Never buy any extended warranty from dealership EVER again.

Default If...

I were you, I'd keep both. That's like double the coverage right there...

With two warranties I bet you can get free gasoline and tires.

Why would you ask a bunch of guys on a forum about this? Call the warranty companies and ask them.

What we say doesn't mean squat. If you get an answer from the warranty company you don't like what are you going to do? Send them to this thread to hear our opinions?

I just have no idea what the point of this thread is.

good news. I called my dealership today and they said if you want to cancel the extended warranty, just come in person and sign some paperwork and you will get the FULL AMOUNT back in 1 week. Nice!!!
