Default New 350z Some auto help?

Morning all,
I just purchased an At/5 04 350z Blue Touring. Aka the showstopper, panty dropper, etc. Now my question is this. Is it better to just let the auto do all the shifting, or should i try to get better using the manual gate? I have just heard so much and still arent sure how efficient manual shifting is compared to a true manual. I just get harassed on a daily basis for having an automatic, because people that dont know anything think its a bad transmission like others. So i just needed alittle info from you guys to shut them up. Im not trying to start a manual vs auto thread and have searched, just was hoping for a good quick response.
Thanks all!

Now can someone just give me a reply. Wouldnt it be easier to just say "It is or it isnt" instead of "Ohhhhhhhhhh here we go again", i mean cmon its less letters. Sidenote though. Whats all this talk about a Rsx? I mean even the type s is only like 200hp and has no torque, fwd also? I dont know what you guys are smoking. I mean i want some but damn..

It's sad that people still have an argument of auto vs. manual. There isn't many true manuals anymore. Several new cars coming out are semi-auto and no longer manual, such as Gt-R or Evo.

there shouldnt be an argument over manual or auto people buy them based on their needs. end of story neither one is better, its whatever you need it for and which one fits your lifestyle

its almost the same imo ... i got a 5AT because i drive in traffic a lot and the auto is nice for that .... i also live near A LOT of hills. basically 6MT has an extra gear and tops out at a little higher speed, more fun to drive when you have open road... but around me that doesn't happen much

As far as I know it is not faster to "shift" it yourself.

what it boils down to is personal choice. some with the auto prefer to use the manual shift, some prefer to keep it in auto, and some prefer to do a mix of both.

so go out, drive, use any of those three options, then choose what is right for you and what you like. that sounds simple right?

oh, and for the beating other cars comment, be sure you do it on a track since street racing is stupid

You will find several top automatic racers here:

Not certain what technique they use. Looking forward to seeing your legal drag racing times.
