Hey Everyone,

I need to know if I'm making a big deal out of nothing, or if I am right to feel cheated here.

I bought a Innovative Wideband with XD-16 guage here from a forum member. It was advertised as brand new and never used. Naturally, I thought it would be BRAND NEW, but when I got the box, this is what I got.





The guage still had electrical tape on it, and the sensor had a little bit carbon residue on it. It was also missing the serial cable. The seller kept telling me it was new until I sent pics, and then he said it was "bench tested". The parts don't look worn or beat up, but there's really no way to know how long it's been used. I got it for $260, which is a great deal if it's new, but not really a fantastic deal if it's used. Should I file a paypal dispute or am I making a big deal out of a few bucks? I'm am really annoyed about it, but don't want to be an a$$ about it. Thanks for the feedback everyone!

 

Wait so you baught it only after seeing the box, not what was in it? At this point, I hate to be an *** but its your fault for not asking for pics of the actual product.

At least you learned your lesson...Get many many pics of the product before buying it.

People try to swindle and scam for money all the time.

 

Looking at the pic's it has been used for awhile.

 

Bull****.......Brand New Never Used means NEVER USED!!!! I would Pay Pal dispute it and have the seller agree to a lower price that you are comfortable with or accept you returning it for a full refund. I hate when trusting people are taken advantage of by others when less of a conscience. Also, make sure you post an identity so others can't be taken advantage of in the same way.

 

You paid for a brand new item. You should get a brand new item.

 

That's a lot of carbon residue for "bench testing". Ask seller to give you back $50.

 

Its new to you. That's what the seller meant.

I guess it is a lesson learned. I should have asked for pics, but he had pretty good trader rating so i thought nothing of it. Ah well.

 

inquiring minds want to know. I'd asked for a refund as you never know what's wrong with it (accuracy issues).

 

I feel the ban hammer coming on lol.

 

I asked him to refund part of the money, no need to say his name if he comes through, but if it doesn't pan out, i'll let everyone know. I'm guessing since he didn't refund part of it earlier, he won't this time either.

Yeah I bought my innovate wideband new and it came with the computer cord to log all info to your laptop along with changing led colors. Also all the different bezel designs, your also missing the software CD. And the adapters that go between the wideband and the o2 sensors. The long extension cord and the module itself(looks like a black box that goes under the car).

 

Sorry, i guess the original post was not worded correctly. I got the module, just didn't picture it. I just pictured the parts that were very obviously used.

It came with the box, CD, quick start guide, guage(with cord), wb, and the module. but you are right, no cable to go to the computer and no guage bezels (i had forgotten these were missing too). sigh.
