Default 05 z and carfax report wrong???WTDo?

I bought the z about a month ago and I think I paid on the high side for it but the carfax report on it was clean and I was getting an extended warranty up to 100,000 miles(has 36,000 now) and it was a certified pre-owned. Well I washed it today and I noticed the front bumper had been repainted. Now I took collision repair in school and after looking at it closer it has definitely been repainted and the color is off slightly. It really pisses me off too cuz that was one of the only reasons I bought this particular car. I was wanting to do minor things to it but nothing really body wise. I was going to keep this for about 2-3 years till we paid my wifes suv off then I was going to trade it in on a 370z. It is not as bad in person as the picture but you can see what I mean? The last 2 pictures is where they didn't spray enough paint/clear on it and it left a dry spot.

My question to you guys is what should I do?

It's possible the previous owner had it repainted due to bug and rock chips. It may not have been wrecked at all.

Carfax and it being repainted have nothing to do with each other. At best, Carfax will show you it was in a total loss wreck, but a fender bender more than likely wont. For all you know it was keyed or the previous owner smacked the mailbox on the way out of the driveway.

Too many people think Carfax is the holy grail of used car buying. If you want to see it's service records, previous owners or if it was a flood vehicle then go for it.

Fixed.

Way to start a new membership here.

Only way carfax can pick-up on a wreck is through an insurance claim...

I wasn't calling him a jerk look at his screen name and what I posted. I was thanking him cuz I didn't know that. I thought carfax is suppose to show everything about the car. It's not noticable really unless your looking for it.See

+1

I had a whole new bumper cover installed because an electronics shop "ripped" it when they were installing my ZR3 heads. It was just a small imperfection, but it was in a bad spot and it was only going to get worse.

So my car has a new bumper and paint too. (Mine is DB and they matched it well though. (I heard silver is the hardest color to blend.)

Doesn't look bad to me. Like David said, paint mismatch a bit, but still looks good...
