Hopefully your build goes well, OP. Glad you have enough common sense to ignore the forum idiots.

this guys an idiot thinkin hes gonna "pull the subframe".....look i hit a tree in my Z and its gonna cost me about 7 thousand to fix it after labor and parts and paint, and thats for an entire new front clip, easier to fix then what this kid is talking about....hes in it for at least a minimum of 10 grand after paint and fixing everything, and on top of that, if he half asses that, i guarentee that thing is gonna fall apart, go cheap on fixing the subframe of a Z and thats whats gonna happen
you sir are an idiot...sorry...but you shoulda just rocked a Z undamaged...coulda got a sick 07 with decent milage for like 17-20... you will learn quite a good lesson on this one, i know i did

Thought I'd interject again having seen everyone flashing the OP...

I think the big OOPS is the fact that the car will carry a salvage
title after the repairs are complete, therefore nullifying any resale
value. That said, if OP enjoys the car and manages to keep it in
one piece for a few years, more power.

I have played the "buy the ****ed up car, fix it, and sell it" game
before. Usually I only participate if the numbers crunch and there
is no salvage title post fix.

It doesn't help that the values of all vehicles have been in a ridic
tailspin.

Not that I sold a 2005 f430 for almost 45% of its purchase price 2
years prior, so wtf would I know about car values? or anything else
for that matter.

I say have at.

the tolerances on these cars, are very precise... you do have alot of work in front of you, and when you are done, im sorry to say, but you will never get the true feeling of the z... everything will be sloppy, and handling will not be as great... all i say is the best of luck, and if you could take it back and get an undamaged one, even if its older, do so...

the lesson of the story is never buy a damaged sports car...

No one seems to know who's Z that is...its a late model with no mods and in a state that has low activity on this forum.

since that's taken care of...HORRIBLE buy

watch the news...recession..they are giving cars away esp pleasure cars

but fixing it will be like phucking your overweight cousin
you will learn alot and love her once u are done...but you will regret it after a few years
it's actually a 2008

As stated earlier, I would love to see the progress of this build. That is, if everyone hasn't dicked it up enough already by bashing the OP and scaring him off. Please give the guy a break, if his old man owns a body shop, I am pretty sure the dude knows what he can or cannot fix. But I would like to see how this turns out, one way or another.

You should donate it to Monster garage and have them tear up another Z to build a semi-cool car.

wow. well first of all i would part that bisch out like right now.

Headlights: $1000
Tailights: $500
wheels and tires: $800
Engine plus drivetrain: at least $4000???

I mean you could prolly at least break even parting it out. To be honest with you I thought about doing the same thing until a friend got hit by a ford explorer on his driver side door and the bill ran up $9000
