Where in Ozone Park is your shop? I'd love to come see the progress of the car in person. =)

hey man well good luck with the remaining of the repairs left...and i give you props for what your doing, i know how that goes for i did the same a few years back with one of my other cars. and like most of the members on the forum have mentioned if you know what your doing then your car will turn out fine. and the feeling of knowing that you build this car up back from scrap to what the final result will be will give you a good feeling at the end. keep me updated of the final repairs and the final results. i would love to see how it ends, and the resurrection of your Z....

I too am thinking auction price for that much damage might have been a bit high, but hey, you still got it much cheaper (by the time you're finished) than something undamaged for that year.

However, I am also on your side, OP. You picked something up, knowing exactly what you were getting into, and exactly what you would get out of it. You bought it to be a project that you would look forward to having in the end. And judging by your results thus far, you seem to have the skills necessary to bring that Z back to life. I applaud your efforts and gusto to tackle this project. I also applaud the thick skin on your flame suit, haha.

Like others have said, people have been doing this stuff for a hundred years! Fabrication is an art. When its done right, it is done well. So best of luck in completing your endeavor and I look forward to the final story and pics

I bought mine from www.copart.com. Yours looks like a very easy fix. Good luck with it. Mine is almost ready for paint, I'll have some pics up soon.

108-15 Merrick Blvd. The name of the shop is Dr.Auto. It's near T&R Racing (the RX-7 joint), if you know where that is.

+1 for the learning experience of being involved in the work. Im sure the experience will pay dividence in your line of work in the long run, even if you may have paid over the odds for the car initially (but what do i know).

I love getting stuck into these things though, best way to learn

Here are the pics. I forgot to take a close up of the fenders, but I installed the 370z lights on them. I'm waiting for a hinge for my trunk from a friend of mine, that's why it's tad bit uneven. I really love driving this car. I ordered a set of wheels for this last week, should be here tomm. hopefully. Next week it'll be off the road because we're gonna rebuild the transmission. The releasing bearing needs to be changed, and probably put a new clutch as well. The previous owner ran the **** outta this car.
