Default new owner need opinions and help

Hey guys,

i was told by a friend about this forum so i decided to check it it out. first off let me tell you what im working with. i got a 2006 350z PPW (ftw) for 16g flat. ive had it for about 3 months and i love it. but as sure as rain, i started to get urge to do a little modding. i like the sleeper look or something sleek, not into the big body kits, no offense to anyone. im in austin, tx and well here are the ideas i have. let me know what you think or what else you would recommend.

Exterior:
-18" oem 35th anniversary rims, i want to powder coat or get them refinished. not sure. I really like the style of the rims.
-billet grille or not? if so i would prolly black it out before placing it on my car
-also im in need and searching for a front bumper license plate bracket, not the one that outlines it but the black thing between the bumper and license plate. (i have paypal)
-drop on tien coilovers
-25% tint on windows
-finally im thinking about a greddy front lip or this lip kit from ebay. I know ebay is a horrible place to buy things but its the only place i could find this lip so far.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...#ht_1481wt_957

Interior:
-I just installed an avic d3, wish it had phonebook transfer for my iphone.
-white led for my dome lights
-valentine 1 radar detector

Engine:
-Im skipping around the idea of a supercharger
-cold air intake

Not to sure about it yet, will be doing a lot of research before the engine stuff begins. Thats all really, let me know what yall think, and i hope to be around here on the forum more often.

Nothing wrong with any of those ideas. Add a plenum spacer to that intake, and maybe some hi-flow cts or test pipes - best bang for the buck performance wise. And as far as intake, the Popcharger, while not a "true" CAI is the best bang for the buck too. Beware - once you start, you can't stop! Do you need a front plate in Texas? We do in Ohio, I slid mine behind a Grille-Tech grill. Much better than hanging off the bumper.

your mod ideas sound tasteful. I read billet grille and did a facepalm, then i continued reading and noticed you'd black it out first. thank you for that, please dont 'bling' out the Z. I saw a Z the other day with a chrome grill with a big Z in the middle of it, I shook my head at the guy..hahah

beware that cold air intakes are moreso for sound and not performance gains. I think you would be content with a JWT Pop charger, which is a simple heat shield + cone filter replacement for the airbox. you will not feel a difference, it just sounds pretty cool, not obnoxious or anything.

you really need to figure out if you are going supercharged, turbo, twin turbo or not, before doing any performance mods. don't waste your money on anything N/A if you are going F/I, you'll most likely have to do over a couple of your choices if so.

congrats on the purchase, welcome to the site, and check our local vendors for all of your part needs (including lip kits), ebay will most likely be a headache for you, we have some real quality vendors here who can get kick *** prices, and get them shipped to you in one piece :]

haha thanks for the advice guys,

i just came to the conclusion that i wont be getting a billet grille. although i do have to have a front plate because that is the law here in texas. i have a couple more questions.
does a lip for a 03-05 fit for an 06 model? what is the difference? and secondly, i have a friend who wants to sell me his 19"g37rims for 900 with tires. do you think that would look okay on my car, also im curious if anyone else with a 350 has these on theirs with pics.

like the wise men say weed's a step closer to crack....modding to boost. both may end up in death but a least we don't steel from our mamma's. lol

G35 wheels look great on Z's, a lot of people have used them, that is not a bad price, either. the 5 spoke wheels that 06+s come stock with can sell for 1k a set w/ tires as well.
