At your age you should not put ALL of your money into a car. Put your money towards your future. Think of it this way, dont buy a z now, but when your 35 you will drive a ferrari. You should look into the vanguard index fund. Now is a good time because the s&p should go up in the coming years. You could also invest in individual stock if you know what your doing. Just my 2 cents.

Dude...you're 16 years old. Until you get a degree and some PRACTICAL experience under your belt, you will not be making much money regardless. Yes, I know there are some teenaged millionaires out there, who made something of themselves at a very early age, but consider that these people make up about 0.00000001% of the population. Also, as some have mentioned here, given your age, zero experience, and not even a high school degree, you will NOT be able to find a part-time job in the IT or graphics field given the current state of the economy. Hell, there are people with tons more experience and knowledge than you who are having difficulty finding a job.

Here's a few points I think you should be taking from this thread:

1. You're still a HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT. Shouldn't you be focusing on your education first, so that at least you can get yourself a high school diploma (which isn't worth much these days) instead of thinking about juggling 1 or more jobs? Also, what if you lose your job or get laid off? Will you have savings in the bank to cover your *** for at least a year? Or will you have to have mom and dad take over the payments? Do you really want that?

2. You've got some optimistic numbers for car payments and insurance, but unless you have some credit established or your parents are going to help you out, there is no way in hell you are going to score yourself a zero interest loan at your age. Plus, you have to consider the additional fees, taxes, registration, maintenance, gas, and incidental costs. Also, consider the possibility that if you go to college carrying a long-term car loan (i.e., 60 months or more) just to make lower monthly payments, you will now have to split your time between a regular job and college studies and activities. It's NOT fun.

3. Spending ALL of the money you make just to make car payments and insurance is a bad, BAD idea. Trust me - it never works out. The costs will ALWAYS be higher than what you anticipate.

4. Patience is a virtue. Honestly, there's no practical reason why you really need to buy yourself a Z at this point in your life, since you've indicated that at present you will be flying by the seat of your pants making the payments.

5. A powerful truck is very, very different from a powerful sportscar in terms of center of gravity, weight, height, intertia, and pretty much every other physical category. The two are very different beasts. You are overestimating your capabilities.

Listen to your parents ... believe it or not they know the best.

At your age, education, and experience level it will be next to impossible to try to make any real money in graphic design.

this is all you gotta do dog....

this is just a JOKE btw, please do NOT take this seriously.

but really, if you want to make that enough for the z, the best way you can get more money as opposed to getting a normal job, is by getting one off the books. Your old mans friend, ect, mow some lawns.

you can also design webpages for people, if you have any idea what you are doing.

also another way you can possibly make money at that age, is EBAY. Yes, I said it. Buy popular items ie portable mp3 players ect, and LOTS OF EM - and sell for more than you bought em for. If you make more than 20 overall profit, just keep that up. Somewhat unorthodox, but it works! Most people on ebay are stupid, remember this.

Remember, if you want something BAD enough, you can get it.

You say you have max and photoshop experience? Post some of your work. Getting into the graphic art field is based mainly on talent. If you have a lot of talent you can make some good money. If you are average, you're a dime a dozen.

Take for example two people I graduated with. They have the same qualifications. One is an artistic phenom. He's making $75 an hour doing Flash animations. Another is just average and works at a video store. He's been actively looking for over a year.

LoL reading this has makes me have flashbacks to when I was 16 going 'I want a vette!' 'I want an M3' 'I want a Z3' and I'd sit down and figure out exactly how much it would cost using payment calculators and figure out how much I'd have to make an hour.. man trust me, just stick w/ your truck.. get a part-time job, save your money and focus on school. I hate to be redundant but school is TOO important. I ****ed around in high school and almost ruined my entire future. Now I'm 19 (20 in nov.), I got my own business and a 2003 Track Model Z. Super Black BTW. lol, just keep the '407 RWHP' and save your money. Don't try and grow up too fast man. Oh and for an Idea of payments.. take a look at what I pay for my track.

$549/month for the Z
$225/month for insurance

Add It Up.. Your lookin at setting aside almost $800 for what? A car? @ 16 its not even worth it. You'll appreciate it more when you can REALLY afford it. Gas? Maintenance? Fah-Get-A-Bawdit. LoL

Reminds me of an old commercial on TV... when an older, very sophisticated interviewer at a company is interviewing some dub for a job who just graduated from high school...

The jist of the commercial went something like this...

Interviewer: "It says here on your resume that you were able to shoot down 567.846 klingwongdongs on the XYZ video game. Very impressive ! "

if you are so good at 3d studio max why not put some of your models up for sale at a modeling website (i.e. turbosquid, renderfarm, etc.)

I know you think you can handle a Z but one thing you are lacking is experience (no, driving on a cowpath with your atv before you had your liscence doesn't count).

Listen to what everyone else is saying. Save your money and go to college. A 16-year old does not need a $30,000+ car. I am 20 and currently drive a friggin $4,000 sentra and I make more than 2x what you do, college is really expensive -- especially if you go out-of-state. You are lucky you have a nice truck.

Ditto to pretty much what everyone else said. When I was 18 I wanted a Z32 so bad. But I was making crap money at a insurance company. Then as I got older I realized that a house was more important. Got a better job, saved every penny I made and bought my house with a 3 car garage and now have my Z, eight years later. If I went out and bought that Z32 for $35,000, I would not have my house and a brand new Z. Patience, Patience!

In 1990 I was sixteen. I worked at Wendy's for $3.15 an hour. I busted my A$$ to purchase a 1984 Chevette for $400. I drove that for 2 years and continued to work hard. I then went to college and worked there too. I used that money to better my education which has now paid off. I can afford a touring Z and some nice mods. Save your $ and get ready for college. It will be the best 7 years of your life.

BTW, I doubt you'll be able to get 0% financing on a Z. Correct me if I'm wrong, though. My credit rating was 781 and I was able to get 3.59%. I imagine it would be hard to get much lower with current interest rates.

Blue Liquid is correct. Nissan does not offer 0.0% financing on the Z. A third party would not offer 0% financing because they wouldn't make a cent.

Dude seriously, hold off. Don't get a Z. For one, without your parents co-signing I dont see you qualifying for a Z and if you do, your interest rate will probably be above 12%.

And unless you start your own graphic design shop, you simply wont make more than $8-10/hr at your skill level/experience. And if you *do* start your own shop, you have to raise capital to get started and you won't be able to afford a Z for at least a year - assuming your at least marginally successful in your business.

Why do you want to get into debt already? Buy a Z now and inherit all of that debt and it will never end for you. Next it'll be something else, then something else. Its simply not worth it. The Z is a great car but only if you have the means to afford it and still live comfortably. you'll be driving a nice Z but taking your dates to McDonald's cause you can't afford anything else. You can't just look at being able to afford the Z, you need to be able to afford it AND not live like a bum.

As much as I would like to jump on the bandwagon here, I have to refrain because who am I to crush someone else's dreams??

If you want a Z, good for you. I was the same way at your age: I wanted all kinds of fast cars. What did I get? A crappy, rotted, rusty, 1977 Chevy Van (my Dad's). But, it got me to and from school and was a helluva lot better than the big, yellow bus!

If you really want a Z at 16, there is only one way to get it: save some money. By the time you're 18, maybe you'll have enough saved up to buy a nice used 2003 for $20k, with $5k down, you'll only need to finance $15k. And if you keep yourself out of trouble those couple years, insurance won't hurt as much either. Go out and buy and old-*** Honda Civic, run it into the ground, then buy your Z. I know it sucks to wait, but it is the only way...

I'm 26 and I did the same thing to get my Z: I saved up for two years (ever since I seen it at the Detroit Auto Show). Now I have the top-of-the-line Track model and my payments are lower than those who have the Enthusiast...saving money rocks!

You said it! And so is high school. If you haven't started your own company by the time you're 10, get ready for a life of flippin burgers.

School's fo fools!
