It will take you forever to make enough cash for a Z. Even with a real job. You'll need to finance one. Can you make about $470 a month? Thats pretty much what you'll need to finance a base for 60 months. You can go up to 84 months also. You will also need your parents for the loan, I'm sure you don't have much credit.

Lots of people will reply to your post and tell you you're crazy. But you are, and thats ok! If you want one that bad, and you don't need the money for more important things, (like college), do it. But don't let the Z get in the way of other priorities.
Good luck.

A hahahahahahahahaha!!!!!

Sorry, you're better off getting a beater that you'll inevitably damage while learning to drive and getting comfortable of driving.

Or else you're going to have your heart broken every time you hit something.

at 16 yer choices for the job market are going to be limited and with the economy effed the way it is now, yer even LESS likely to find a job. Not sure where you live, but in MI here the average 16 year old makes $6-8/hour and can only work 22 hours a week or something like that. That translates to something like $140 after taxes so you'd be lucky to make enough for the car payment let alone insurance. That's all you guys are worth, don't take this the wrong way, but what qualifications do you have that would justify someone paying you more than a more qualified person. At 16 you prolly have not had enough real world experience to bring to the sales table. Take life slow, at 16 I was more concerned about affording insurance on my POS car and getting through highschool. Sure I had the dreams of having the "kewl" car and have everyone be jealous of me, but I didn't let that get in the way of reality. You just got your license, learn to drive before going out and snagging a sports car such as the Z. I see way too many young kids (I live in an Arabic/Chaldean neighborhood and the going trend is that mommy and daddy by jr. a new CTS or something, just cause they can). in these powerful cars and I see them screwing around and getting hurt or killing someone too.

Best of luck with the search though.

You dont want to be in that kind of debt at your age. Trust me.

Since you've never owned a Z before, go out and buy yourself z31 turbo. Nice and cheap, handles pretty well. Learn all you can about it. Twinturbos are a little more expensive, so I wouldnt recommend it

Concentrate on school. Seriously

nah see.... i have plenty of qualifications. i do ALOT of photoshop work and i have 2 years of graphics background with 3d Studio Max. i mean, i have ALOT of qualifications that seriously set me apart from all the other moron teen agers but i just dont know where to go or how to get my name out. anyways, i've been driving for more than 9 months, crashed my truck 2 weeks after i started. its my mom's old one but its still nice. my parents pay for insurance. the insurance on a Z for me right now would only be 173 per month. thats with collision, liabilty, and theft. my truck can trade in for 14. so the way i look at it. i will have to pay 15000 for a base which would make me estatic. i have calculated it and Z payments would be 243 per month for 48 with 0% apr and my trade in. its really hard to even make 150 a month right now at the job im at. its slow season so they are only scheduling people for 2 shifts a week or so. i want to make more than 6 dollars too. i know there has to be places where a teenager with my skills can get atleast 8. anyone know?

ps. im not worried about crashing. i lived in the country since i was 3. i drove on the back rodes in sport cars, clunkers, ATVs and all sorts of stuff. i have alot of experience for a 16. less then 3 months til im 17 too. i moved to the city 3 years ago. the only reason i had the wreck i did have is b/c i was in rush hour traffic merging from a 3 lane highway to a 5 lane. trust me, if i had a Z... nothin would ever happen to my baby.

Hate to sound like a parent and tell you this, but what you should be doing is giving your education the highest priority. There are reasons why laws exist limiting work hours for people under the age of 18. I'm not saying you're lazy or stupid, because I wanted a nice car at 16 (except I wanted a Lotus Esprit Turbo) and I'm sure almost every guy here has felt that way one time or another during their teen years. But as someone said previously, you shouldn't get yourself into that kind of debt at your age, and if you have to work a bunch of jobs just to make the payments as well as insurance, maintenance, and gas, trust me - it's not worth it. As much as I hated hearing this from my parents, they were right when they told me that I needed to save some of the money I earned working as a teen.

Good luck, though. It's admirable that you have ambitious goals, but I really think you should take a step back, get through school, and be patient.

Oh yeah, one more thing - nobody ever buys a car with the intention of banging it up, unless you're entering a demolition derby. While your intentions may be good, you may be overestimating your driving experience and ability a little bit. Just ask the kid here who recently posted how he totalled his Z going around a corner near his home.

Hate to disspoint you, but you will not be getting a job in the IT field anytime soon kid. First of all, you have zero experience. Second of all, you have zero experience. Thirdly, the market sucks. Even if you did have qualifications, you would most likely get a temp part time position somewhere because you have zero experience.

People here have given you some good advice. I suggest you take it.

Well, other folks are right about the IT market sucking. When I was 16 in the late 90's, I did network consulting for >$40/hr, but seven years and a college degree later, I'm making less $$!!! D@mn economy!

If I was in your position today, I'd try to find a waiter job in a high-class place like a steakhouse or sushi restaurant. The tips are pretty good. Even valet parking pays well. With the money you make, invest every cent of it. There's no way you're going to make enough money with your two hands alone to make payments much less pay for insurance. Learn about investing, and invest every dollar you can afford into the market. It's a good life skill to learn!

What else? Look into telemarketing, pharmacy technician, and maybe even car stereo installation. Good luck!

I think you may have to pay more than that, if you finance, you will need full coverage with minium deductable

Are your parents gonna finance it for you? Cuz at the age of 16 I doupt you can get that rate.

Don't forget the cost of yearly registration renewal and maintance fees. I don't want to discourage you, but I think at your age you should stick with getting good grades at school and get into a good college so you can build a good foundation for your future career. The Z is just a depreciating material good, they will always come out with a better and newer Z. Don't strap youself with financial hardship at such a young age. Sorry, didn't want to sound like your parents.

PEACE!!

Your are 16... hmmmmm ! Depending on your looks, H.S. connections, and number of girls you know... recommend you watch the old Tom Cruise flick.. "Risky Business"... You should be able to buy Lamborghini Gallardo if you are successful.

Good luck...and think BIG......

Is it just me or do they need to start putting in min ages on driving certain types of cars. Hell this just says that right here

"i've been driving for more than 9 months, crashed my truck 2 weeks after i started."

Dude if you can't handle a truck wtf makes you think you can handle a new Z. And only 2k a year in insurance for a 16 year old for a sports car like the Z, I don't think so. That insurance rate is probably for your parents who will let you drive the car.

Also on the job thing qualifications mean jack ****. If you aren't Certified or have a **** load of EXP right now you have NO CHANCE of a decent paying job in the computer world.

Rant Off, sorry guys the 16 year olds and Z's are getting to me.

"1. pyramid scheme

3. rob an armored car
4. sell drugs
5.beg your parents
6.beg your freinds

^^^ i dunno how to quote

LOL,

pyramid scheme - won't work any longer, although there are some small ones around North America, they are very hard to start, very illegal, and take a lot time to build capital

rob a bank/armored car - since u guys live in the US and have access to guns, it's more duable than for those who live in Canada, but after watching Cops i do not suggest it

Selling drugs will definitelly make u a lot of money, if u're good, and the new laws (at elast in Canada) permit you to do it more easily.

Begging doesn't work, but if u do decide to beg, make a whole payment plan and approach ur parents with it, trying to prove to them that u'll be able to pay for everything urself.

I am 18, i own a '03 Acura 3.2CL Type-S, and i just ordered my 350z which should be coming in December.

All i have to tell you is the money is in business, take as many business courses as you can, and as you're telling us you have a lot of experience with graphic design, you can really become successful with that. If you're dedicated enough, you will buy that car, but remember that working for $6/hour will not get you anywhere. There is money all around, u just have to reach in and get it

Have fun figuring out what you need to do to buy it, just remember, it's very duable.

-Pavel
