Storing the Z until late September
So my Z is in the garage, tucked away until September. I have the tank full but have not done anything else special, it's been parked in the garage since late Feb. I drove it around the parking lot about a month ago and I start it up about every other week. I know I can't just leave it sitting for 6 months (or can I?), so the plan is to put the coverage back on it and have my brother or someone run through a tank of gas. Any tips on storage for the next 6 months? It's locked up and safe but I just don't want anything to corrode or get stiff from not being used...

When I had my car stored for a year, my dad drove my car around the block every few weeks or so. I also put in some fuel stabilizer with a full tank of gas. Came back a year later, still had the same tank of gas and started right up and drove fine. I did change the oil before and after I stored it, to be on the safe side. Make sure to disconnect your battery too. My battery wouldn't even hold a charge any more when I came back.
If you're able to have someone drive it every once in awhile, do it. Otherwise there is a lot more involved in prepping for storage. Draining fluids, taking of wheels/tires(prevent flat spots), etc.

PS Check the water level from time to time even though the maker of Battery Tender claims nothing will happen .

my Z is currently being stored while im in afghanistan. the company i found starts it up twice a month, rolls the wheels so i dont get flat spots. i didn't really do anything special prior to that, unless you consider cleaning it out nice .

So it sounds like I will be able to just keep doing what I am doing, basically keep it in the garage, start it now and then, and then ride it around the parking lot...
I actually want to teach my girlfriend how to drive it, she lives with me but she just needs to learn how to drive standard. I'd rather have her driving it than have it just sit there in the garage, she's an excellent driver and takes care of things so there's very little worry about the car with her, just the learning curve of the clutch will be her big hurdle...

half of the responses here are not correct so don't listen to them. search storing your car for the winter and you will find a detailed guide on what to do. i believe it is in the maintenance section
