Overtightened sounds far more likely than a stupid thief, IMHO.

Did you have your wheels removed, serviced, or (heaven forbid) rotated somewhere? Like Jiffy Lube or something? "Torque sticks" are supposed to be stupid-proof, but as long as people operate it, it's hard to engineer "stupid" completely out.

Just my 2c... I don't let anyone near my wheels with an impact, torque sticks or no.

How does the rotor get damaged ?? Just go get the $2.50 to $5 in parts , remove your wheel, remove the caliper , caliper bracket (were up to 9 bolts now, including lug nuts ) rotor will slide off , tap the bad studs out with a hammer , slide new studs in , put 4 12mm washers over the stud , an lug nut installed upsidedown and tighten till the stud is pulled thru. Install the rotor, bracket , caliper and wheel.

Or remove your man card , and never call yourself a man again. Its a simple job any man should be able to do.

If you are young and you attempt to claim this through insurance your rates will increase dramatically. If you don't want to do it yourself get out your checkbook.

Actually, if the rotor was also damaged, it will DECREASE the amount of time to replace... mount the new studs in the new rotor and just swap the rotors. 30 minutes, tops.

Doesn't matter. Girls can wrench too. Besides, OP quoted time as the problem; not lack of mechanical knowledge.

Go back to the Civic forum, you obviously have no clue.
