Default angry...

so i'm driving home from work last night....and about 15 miles away from my home on the highway 2 wheel studs snap off so i call the stealership and the guys givin me **** about how he doesn't want to cover it under warranty...i've only owned the car about 4 months and it has 5000 miles on it

if you have a close but not exact bolt pattern wheel it will do that....

Definitely sounds fishy that they would just snap off if everything was stock.

You can overtighten stock nuts and break a stud. What's the big mystery?

^^ True, Hopefully the bolts aren't threaded... I have no clue about anything about a Z, but I am definitely willing to receive more knowledge about one!

sorry for forgetting the details...my car is an 08 super magnetic black base model slightly modded 3 inch exhaust, aem dual intakes, test pipes, and y pipe, stock rims stock brakes stock studs everything stock no spacers or nothin..and i was drivin home from work and the car starts to wobble i pull over and two of the studs are missin so i pulled off the wheel and they're imbedded in the rotor u can see where the head of the stud is poppin through the side of the rotor..i'm kinda pissed...the dealer said it looks like someone was tryin to steal my wheels but got spooked away or somethin..he's still not sure if its gonna be covered by the warranty

so is the rotor damaged as well?

changing out the hub bolts is a pretty simple job, and very cheap, like less than ten bucks cheap, and thats if you buy extra, which I recommend.

I had this happen to me last month, i ended up snapping a bolt becuase the other lug nuts were twisted on so tight by the thief.

Yeah, it's a pretty easy job. I'd rather do something like this myself than take it to the dealership. Who knows what they'll do there

cars at the dealership can't get any photos and its not gonna be covered on warranty the service rep said it looked like someone was tryin to steal my rims so it wasn't there fault so i had to notify my insurance

Hmmm.Most theives I have ever encountered loosen the wheel nuts to steal the wheels,not tighten them.If the stud broken,you can be sure they were overtorqued ot begin with.
