I think my base model came with LSD
I just bought a 2006 350z. I thought it was a base model because it doesn't have cruise control or heated seats or leather. It has HID's, and the 18 inch wheels, but i think that's standard on 06's. Well when I do a burnout I get two tire tracks. When I jack up the car and spin the tires while in gear they spin opposite directions. Out of gear only one tire will spin. It's so confusing how do I know if my car has an LSD for sure.

I have an 06 base also. Sometimes both wheels do spin yes. But they do not come standard with LSD. *Without killing yourself or injurying others* from a stop attempt to make a right or left turn full throttle with about a 2k rpm launch slipping the clutch. Guarantee you that only one wheel will spin 90% of the time. But the 18" tires and HID's came standard on 06+. Just bought it and already doing burnouts :/ scares me a little.
How many miles on yours?

I was able to get both tires to spin when the car was pointed straight and the load was even for both tires. (with my open diff)
If you want to see where an open diff shows its weakness, go do an autocross or anything where you need to apply power out of a turn.
With an open diff, the inside tire will become "unloaded" and start spinning, while the outside tire, with most of the weight and traction will just be along for the ride.
Digging out of turns is much easier with a LSD.

Jack up the which ever end is in question to get the tires off the ground. Put the transmission in neutral and spin one of the tires by hand.
If the opposite tire spins in the same direction, you have a limited slip differential.

so if you have leather seats 18 inch stocky's bose stereo cruize power seats you have an lsd? because i bought a 350z with all that and im not very familiar with these cars because all i have ever owned are rx7's
If you have cruise control, then you definitely have an lsd. Cruise control is not available on base models, which are the only ones without LSD.
