Default 350Z test drive can cause inZomnia

My friend and I just picked up his '04 Silverstone Performance tonight about an hour ago or so. I was reluctant to test drive the car but I gave in to the inevitable and ended up rolling with it for several miles.

The problem is that, now I think I want one and the force is pulling me out of my plan to get an '04 RSX-S. I can't sleep and stop wondering how much thrust would I have felt off the backseat had I redlined the car. Of course, we abided by the sacred rule of breaking in the car properly and painstakingly limited the fun to 4K virtual redline.

How was everyone's experience after test driving the car but did not drive it home?

i drove home my SS performance 2 weeks ago and am still in love with the car. Think of the sound of the engine and the thrust...oh my god....i can't sleep tonight.

I just got the car tonight and it's 2:23am now. I can't fall asleep. I can't believe I actually got the car. I have waiting for almost a year to get the 04.

I have an 02 WRX that is plenty fast, handles great, does everything I need it to. Yet I am still selling it and everything on it so I can buy a Z. It is absolutely ALL I can think about......

I've got it bad.....

I was very happy about my RSX-S(except the wimpy torque at low end), until I test drove the 350Z. I wasn't planing to change my car at all, and all I wanted was to test drive the car. But after the test drive, I wasn't satisfied with the RSX anymore. So 2 weeks later, I got a new Z and said goodbye to my RSX.

I was orginally in the market for a RSX-S (Arctic Blue Pearl) and i was ready to buy it too... but i didnt like the fact that the salesman gave a speech of..." You only wanna pay how much?... man ... can we make some money?" and i was only asking about $500 below MSRP... (not impossible by any means).... so said oh well... and then Z comes into play... HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY

I also went to Subaru dealeship since it's also in consideration partly because I like the sound of BOV and plus it's a decent car to say the least. In addtion, my co-worker's brother is a general manager of a Subaru dealership and therefore hook-up is already in the works; just have to pull the trigger.

But friends and relatives who know nothing about the car (WRX) describe it as "utter ugliness." On the contrary, these folks like the looks of the Z.

Default Dying of anticipation

I too am consumed by the Z. I have always liked it since I read about it last year, but I have an '01 Celica GT-S that I told myself I would stick with. But just for fun last weekend I test drove it at the dealer.

Ughhhhhhh I am hooked. Monday I put my car up for sale and now I'm sleepless because I can't wait for someone to gobble up my car so I can get into my new Z.

Grrr... I don't wanna trade it in because I'll lose a lot of money.

The Z for me! (I hope to report joining the club soon)

the rsx(s) doesnt equal rice. however, as a former honda you should know the animosity (real or imagined) between nissan and honda owners. hence the picture posted below. also, 99% of ricers out there own hondas (although that might be a slightly unfair generalization).

If I'm not mistaken, Honda cars outnumber Nissan cars out on the street and that there are far more "rice" equipment catered to the former. Therefore, one can only expect to see far more riced-out Hondas than Nissans. But yeah, I see plenty of them.

I was wondering maybe someone should organize an Import Show-RICE competition or some sort of RICE parade? I can't imagine the amount of laughter it would bring about to the car enthusiast. I don't know, sometimes when I'm bored I search for rice pics to get a good kick.

This is what I'm trying to avoid; lose money by initially choosing the wrong car. Hope you're happy now though. Just try to avoid test driving an M3 this time around.

I wonder if I drove a C5 Z06 if i would still be happy with the performance of my 350Z? My idea os to get an ATI SC so I have no regrets in power.

Yeah, I've wondered the same. I haven't driven in a Z06 for fear of becoming overwhelmingly addicted to the raw power and torque of that beast. (Not to mention it's one of the best handling cars on a track that you can buy.) But nevertheless, I did sit in one for a bit. I'm coming from an Audi, which has one of the nicest and most quality interiors I've ever owned. (Even the 350Z will be a step down in interior quality for me... although worth it.) However, the Vette was just a bit too far down the ladder.

Don't get me wrong, I bow down before the pure superiority of the Z06 as far as performance and pure sports cars go. I just don't think I'd want to drive around in one as my daily driver. If I was only interested in performance, the Z06 would be near the top of my list (along with maybe an Evo 8). But since I'm looking for a total package and daily driver, it drops down a few slots. Plus... it's just too far out of my budget anyway, just like the M3.

Hah looks like we have some pretty stupid people here one of them is Pure Tremble, that just cause a person drives a Honda he's immediately labeled as a Ricer.. You do know Nissan is NOT an American car right? And it's from Japan.. And Nissan cars are also considered a "Rice" car..
