Default Holes show when removing splash guards?

I ordered a 2004 Touring the first week of August (deposit made at the end of July and order was actually placed August 2nd). To date, the dealer has only received an order acceptance number, but no VIN as of yet (45 days later).

In the meantime, the dealer has found the car I want at another dealership with a couple of items that I had not originally ordered. The one additional item that I do not want but is installed is the splash guards. I have read in other posts that the splash guards are easily removed, but I understand that some new holes have to be drilled for them to have been installed in the first place. For anyone who has removed the splash guards, how noticeable are the holes? I don't know if color plays any role in this or not, but if so, the car will be LeMans Sunset.

I am trying to decide if I want to accept this car or just wait on my original order. While I know this is an extremely minor detail, I just want to make sure that the holes aren't noticeable. If they are, I would rather continue waiting. (Trying to balance patience with being "reasonable")

Thanks for any input.

In looking at the install instructions from Courtesy Parts, it seems that you have to drill a hole inside the wheel well for the front splash guards (http://www.courtesyparts.com/instruct/350Z-FSPGD_2.html) and 2 holes inside the wheel well for the rear splash guards (http://www.courtesyparts.com/instruct/350Z-RSPGD_1.html). Is this not the case?

I had thought about the possible paint damage but hope that wouldn't be a problem if the car hasn't been driven. I guess it is still possible if the dealer installed them without having cleaned the car first.

Thanks!

yes, there are holes in the body of the car, but the holes are not visible after you have removed the guards. I have removed my rear splash guards (after owning the car 4 months), and the only thing messing it up on my car is the paint damage that the guards left. You will not be able to see the holes....unless you're on your back underneath the car.

Thanks for the replies everyone. If the dealer can get it here, I may have to pull the trigger on this one.

I removed my splash guards... and yes there are holes. They are there and I can see them plain as day when i stand next to the car. I'm not sure how others don't have holes showing, their guards must have been glued on. I replaced the screws, thought it looks better than holes and besides, when I had splash guards, I could see those same screws. My car is white so maybe they show up more on the light color.

On the ground under the right side:

On the ground again under the left side:

They are tiny tho, anyway. Nothing to be self-conscious (or car-conscious) about.

Great pics, thanks!

It may be a moot point anyway; the car that dealer was trying to get for me was from a dealer in Texas (I'm in North Carolina) and it seems to have already been sold (was sold before my dealer actually got in contact with the dealer in Texas). I guess I'm back in queue with my original order or until a close match comes along again.
