Can you tell the difference between trim levels on a 2007 z just from photos?
I am wondering if you can tell the differences in trims of 07 Z's just from pictures because I feel as if the dealers are misadvertising some of the Z's on the internet. I know the differences between trims but what/where should I look to figure out what trim it is?
The dealer didn't have much info on the car so I emailed them for more info. The dealer replied, saying the car is an Enthusiast model but there are no steering wheel controls, or aluminum pedals from the photos. Is it just a base that he is trying to pass off as an Enthusiast?

it helps to actually go to said dealership and look at the car in person.
Maybe. There are some exterior keys, but items such as brakes and wheels can be swapped from other models. The key is the interior. Again we might have a situation where leather and cloth seats are swapped.
Keep in mind that sellers not necessarily dishonest just ignorant. Buyer beware.

I would, but said dealership is 300+ miles away. Unless I know its an Enthusiast model for sure, I'm not going to travel that far just to confirm if it is or isn't an Enthusiast.
From the dealership:
The 350 Z is an Enthisiast model. Please let me know when you would like to come see it.

I just ran out to check the vehicle it has cruise control. I didnt see the lsd button. I'm sorry that I am not familiar with the vehicles standard features. I can tell you that it is a clean car with good mileage. Let me know if you are interested in coming in to take a look at it in person. I will be glad to help you out.

I appreciate the gesture, but the car is no where near Ohio. I'm going to assume its a base, since it doesn't have the steering wheel controls so its off the list.
If it has cruise, wouldn't it be an enthusiast? There is no "LSD Button", its called a TCS or VDC button. Call them and ask them all the questions rather than email, its a lot faster and you get better results talking to someone in person.
I would go so far as to say most use stock photos. Best to call and ask for EXACTLY what features the car has. Often they don't know one trim level from the next.

This is confusing, since the cruise control buttons are on the steering wheel. AFAIK, there are no after-market cruise control options for the Z, so no steering wheel controls = no cruise control.
As a side note, Enthusiast will have TCS, not VDC, and base has neither -- so that might help a little more.
I picked up my 07 z two weeks ago. It was labeled as an enthusiast package but had no steering wheel controls of aluminum pedals. A Vin check at the mva said it was indeed an enthusiast package. Same as when my insurance ran the vin. So how can it not be an enthusiast trim package just because of the steering not having controls and pedals not being aluminum. I'm confused now after reading all these answers.
