Alright if i have your attention heres my situation.....Im currently looking to buy my first 350z sometime this year, I've been looking all over from autotrader to carmax and cars etc... I finally came across a 350z out in Tampa, FL which isnt far from me since I live in Orlando.These are the stats of it: its a Titanium gray 04' 350z touring package with 19,000 miles on it and its going for $16,977.. Now like I said before I live in Orlando and many of my friends are Ricers/Honda ******...so i asked them if the price was good for the year and miles but of course i got the "Bro just buy an 08' accord" or "why a 350 bro, its nothing special" soo they were no help.. luckily I do have a normal friend who owns an 08' 350z.. So i went to him for advice and he basically told me that the 04' through the 06's are some of the slower 350'z and that they end up having alot of problems in the long run, but i figured it could be a somewhat prejudice opinion being that he owns an 08' and it was his first one that he started with...so basically im looking to see if my fellow Nissan comrades could help me and give me some advice...I would appreciate it, thanx!!!

 

Screw the 04, I would get a 2001.

 

Problems...if you don't mind getting your own hands dirty so to speak...not bashing any owners out there...

If you don't have the cash for something newer, don't attempt to hurt yourself. Your find with out seeing it in person, or having a carfax is always questionable...

03-06 Z cars have lots of available parts out there for cheap compaired to the newer 07-08 Z so the mod game is better way better...

My advice for you... buy the cheapest Z you can find, drift it everywhere, and crash into a tree. Make sure you make separate threads for "my parents just bought me a Z" and "I just crashed my Z". And on a final note... wet roads are no excuse for spinning out into a tree/ditch.

but to answer your question 16700 is a great price for a z with 19k miles.
i bought my 2006 in 2008 with 19k miles for 24k...
tells you where the economy is...

04-06 are slower? what?
lol...this is not true...why would the later models be slower?

they are all the same basically.
even the 07-08 models not much of a difference in stock HP.

uh yeah maybe if you are twin turbo you wouldn't know it, but for stock, the 07s/08s are definitely a little bit faster then the 03-06's. different engine set ups. you have a LOT of reading to do about the car and really, your screen name suggests that you have no business owning a 300hp rwd car to begin with. it doesnt matter what car you get, you're going to drive it like an idiot. call it a 6th sense if you will - please go raise the insurance rates of another kind of car :/

2003-2006 the Z had 287hp and the newer 350z have 306hp

I think your friend is trying to justify buying a 2008 instead of pre 2007, saying that have problems...he probably over paid (not to be a jerk or anything since I would say the same thing).

I have a 04' and have yet to have a problem with the car 51k miles on it...and I'v push the car hard ever since I got it.

 

When he first joined he got flamed for crying about a security guard that gave him a ticket for rolling through a stop sign. So I guess he feels that is what we are supposed to do to new members.

Having said that, don't expect the best treatment with a signature like that. (and why does it sound familiar???) People here don't like ricers, braggers or street racing. No should they!
