There is an old saying, "the hotter they are, the faster they burn out." This car is pretty hot, being that there have been no true sports cars from Japan for almsot a decade, maybe except the S2000, but most ppl still dont want a convertible.

I think the price of this car will settle off now. I just wished i waited an extra 5 months and i could have bought it for 500 - 1000 under msrp.

I've heard the funniest reason why I saw a used Z with only about 1000 miles on it at a dealership. Some old rich married guy bought a black track model and ended up getting laid by some hot young chick. His wife found out and was so furious she instantly took the car and sold it back to the dealer for a considerable loss. Try and top that. haha

why do they trade it in??

because ppl are stupid and dont know that the car is RWD,has stiff suspension, and has 287 hp and thats too much for them...

i see A LOT of mid 40 yr olds drive the Z...i bet they will drive it during boston winter and realize how the car cant really handle in the snow.

imo.. most of the mid 40 year olds have learned a long time ago that a car like this isnt for snow covered roads. from what i am seeing... a lot of guys are trying to sell their z and only lose a few thousand dollars after having driven it several thousand miles. if a person could realistically do that, i think i would be driving a new car every six months or so. i see a lot of them planning to sell at pretty high prices, just wonder how many really are being sold.

I think pretty much every reason/excuse someone would have for selling their Z has been mentioned here...

The bottom line is that cars like this appeal to a very small segment of auto-buying public. And I say "Thank Heavens." I am tired of the watered-down crap they are building these days to satisfy the masses: people are stupid...they don't really know what they want!

As history has proven, cars that get a cult-following but don't necessarily sell well, will bring a huge premium later on in life. Just look at the Shelby-Mustangs...these cars were too impractical (and expensive) for the general public, now a GT350 in great condition can bring as much as $80,000!!! That's more than 10 times what the car cost in '68!!!! The Z already has the cult-following...

Besides, I will never get tired of the 4 "Z-waves" that I got this weekend; the guys in SUVs checking it out at the gas station; the finger pointing and head-turning; the thumbs-up from kids as I pass by....They will have to pry this car from my cold, dead hands.

Oh, almost forgot this one: Having a guy at the track leave his $150,000 Porsche to come look at my 350Z...priceless!

I agree with Sharp. I think some is because they don't know what they are atually buying. The Z is a car you have to drive, the car doesn't drive you.
Which is what a friend of mine said and why she is selling the car. She said it was hard to drive, but keep in mind she usually likes driving luxury cars.
