Angry This is "PISSING ME OFF" , WHY r so many people selling there Z!!!

errrrrrrr...........Men! what is wrong with these people, why are so many people selling their Z, whats wrong?? this is PISSING ME OFF REALLY BAD !!!!!
For some reason lately I seem alot the people selling their Z on the used car market, before it was couple of them and now are tons of them, and this is making me wondering, Are there anything wrong with our Z? or these people are just being STUPID, b/c I know I love my baby, and I know you guys too and I will do anything to keep my baby, I remember last yr. people are dying to buy a Z or to get one and they waited for so many days and month to get their Z or paid tons of money over msrp to get one and now they are selling them, and alot of them are like almost brand new with few hundred or thousand miles on it, and they will welling to loss tons of money and selling them for cheap, not just cheap, they are selling WAY TO CHEAPPPP~~~ and this result our car VAULE DROPPING so FAST, and while they selling their Z cheap, dealer are still ripping people off on the brand new Z and people are still buying them, what is WRONG, can anyone give me a good reason? I tried to figure it out for the past few days and I can not find a good reason or a answer for it, so I am hoping you guys to tell me

Here's a few reasons for it

1. Some people are rich, and can afford to take a loss on a car and just go out and buy another one whenever they want.

2. Some people are poor, and get a car they can't really afford and only find out after they've had it a few months. Then they realize they MUST sell it or it will be repossessed because they can't afford the payments.

3. Some people are fickle, and change cars every year or even more often. I personally have bought 4 cars in the last year and a half, and have owned 5 in the last year and 10 months or so. Granted I love my Z, but that doesn't mean a year from now I won't get the new car bug again and go out and buy a Corvette or BMW or something.

4. Some people aren't impressed, from reading alot of comments in the racing sections it's obvious to me that some people are not impressed by the straight line acceleration of the Z. A low 14 second car (stock) is not what they want. So they sell their Z and go buy a EVO or STi or even a fast domestic car because they want more impressive stock 1/4 mile numbers.

5. Some people want what's new, how many people on here have you noticed talking about trading in or selling their Z so they could go buy the Roadster? How many people have already done it? Geez I would do it if they weren't marked up to some ridiculous amount over MSRP by the dealers in my area. Same with the RX-8 it's the new thing, and even though most people say it's slower than the Z (stock vs. stock) some people want the new thing on the block. This can be said about all makes not just the RX-8, there might be people selling their Z's to go buy Chrystler Crossfires just because they are the new flavor of the week.

6. Some people don't think about the future, they buy their Z in the spring or summer and when fall or winter rolls around they realize that their climate will not permit them to drive the Z to work in the snow. Not everyone lives in California or Florida. Many times people buy RWD performance sports cars and don't realize the problems they will have in bad weather until that bad weather hits. This exact same thing happened to me when I had my 2001 Cobra, bad snow storms and suddenly I have no way to work. So it leaves these people with a few options sell/trade the car in for something more economical, buy a beater for the winter, or buy another new car for the winter. Personally I bought a new AWD SUV for the winter so I could keep my Cobra out of the snow and the danger and it will be the same with my Z. However not everyone can afford to just go buy another new car just so they can keep their Z.

There's some reasons for you, and I don't think it's any reason to get angry. Who cares if people are selling their Zs, if someone is selling it then they aren't driving it and that means less of them on the road. And if your in the market to buy one and people are selling used ones cheap then that's all the better for the people that really do want the car.

Relax man lol.

good explanation, i don't think anyone should be pissed off

people sell their cars all the time, can't expect everyone to just keep their z's.

plus it's good for me, since i'm looking for a used Z, more choices.

i guess he didn't read in the manual how to fit two golf bags in the trunk (did anyone else find that funny when they read it in the manual???)
all in know is my car isn't going anywhere i've had her for 7 months now and i still can't stop staring at her

You left out that some of them maybe be like me and have not had the best experience with their car.

3rd Transmission (needing to be replaced), Every TSB ever released, 3rd set of front tires, paint mismatch, etc.

Not exactly the most confidence inspiring experience.

last one, I think the biggest, people bought it as a mid life crisis car, then quickly realized they need a 4seater midlife crisis cause they have kids. sports cars are not for everyone, but everyone likes to think they are.

also there are over 30,000 out there now, a few are just bound to come up for sale, look at other recently released cars, they too are for sale.

I don't understand why you're so pissed off about it. It's really none of your business why people decide to sell anything. But if you REALLY want to know, why not contact some of the people who are selling their cars and ask them directly, instead of b*tching about it here? At the very least you'll have the answers to your questions.

wait a minute....I thought the reason you're selling your car is because you are having some problem with ur student visa so have to leave b4 yr ends. Now the resale value in the future?

your item on ebay

You are busted. and i was feeling sorry for your visa thingy. Tsk Tsk Tsk....nowadays you can't trust anybody.

Default Good post, Z2k3 ...

You summed it up very well. I’ve seen this subject posted several times recently.

Seems most of the folk that start these type of threads are upset about “loss of value”. IMHO anyone who expects this car to increase in value, or at least remain the same in the short term, have bought the Z for the wrong reason. For my opinion, see last post on thread:

Dude, just go out, drive & enjoy your Z. And quit reading the car ads in the paper.

Peace

past sports car beat the typical value depreciation rate by far, 300ZX, supra, rx7 all of those are worth way more than they should be.

but this doesnt apply if the car is still being produced... but in 10 years... I think the Z will likely be worth more than say a G35 coupe just because one will become a collectors car by default just by having the lineage of the Z behind it.

Cool

I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on an '04. As one of the older members (56) I would like to mention that some of the disappointment in resale value is due to the fact that most people have over paid for their Z. Look at the Roadster owners. When you pay $5000 or more over msrp, the resale value in a year or so is going to look poor. I have owned 4 previous Zs and usually paid aroud $500 over invoice. As much as I would like to have a Roadster, I am not going to pay over sticker. Wait a few months and they will be selling for under msrp. They are already at msrp in FL & CA. Starting with the 260Z, I have never had more bang for the buck. I probably paid close to full price for that first one...just couldn't help myself. Now if I can just keep fighting the urge to go 900 miles to FL to pick up a Roadster.......I think the extra money would be better spent on upgrades to an Enthsiast.

People have to realize that the Z is not for everyone. A 2 seat sports car which is loud, has a harsh ride, very limited cargo room. People shouldnt get caught up in the moment and wake up.
I saw three 04 Maximas in my block but not even one Z. Which is good. I think the 2nd or 3rd yr sales for the Zs will slow down. That means the resale value will be good. I mean 30,000 Zs a yr isnt alot. When you have 4times more Maximas made.
