Default someone break into my car...

woke up this morning and got a note from police officer that my car was break in.... it seems like someone trying to get the navigation, but i didn't. the nav cubby was opened.

contacted insurance and they told me i have to pay deductable which is $500. however, here is my question.

my damages are
- driver side windows
- inside door penel(the black plastic one) was poked with some sort of knife
- window tinit...
- sparco seat is all over the glasses
- little dents on door

dealer quoted me $470 parts+labor just for the window replacement, but one body shop quoted me $350.

however, will insurance company covers inside plastic panel ,tints and the seat?

I'm pretty sure it will be over $500 with renting cars and such....

also how much does it cost for the inside plastic door panel?

i believe that the insurance will cover anything after $500. But you should call your agent to double check.

Yes, your insurance will cover it.

Door panels are pricey, last i checked www.courtesyparts.com was like 460 for the panel assembly.

Check some local salvage yards?

what seats are those?

I hate seeing this, I'm sorry it happened to you, wonder why they went through the trouble and left the nav, maybe they got spooked

like others have said they will cover everything above your deduct so don't worry about the expenses and get everything fixed just like new, don't stand for anything less like crappy bodywork or a repaired rather than replaced panel. Contact them before anything to see how they would like to handle it, some companies will send someone out to value the damage and they will cut you a check, others like to handle it differently and just pay the people fixing the damage. Either way, good luck and I hope you get everything fixed soon

Its the black powder the cops use to try and pick up any finger prints left behind.

Damn dude, I'm sorry for your troubles.

You have some sort of mount in your front seat, did you have an ipod or something on your dash?

Looks like they tried to do a quick smash-and-grab, and weren't trying to steal your car.

Thankfully this is all the damage that they did.

Give the guy a break...from his sentence structure and grammar, it sounds like English isn't his first language.

My Z was vandalized last month. They didn't even get into the car from what I could tell. Just smashed out the driver's side window. $480 replacement from SafeLite. They even come to you to do the install. Biggest bummer was that I had to replace the drivers side window motor less than a month before (another $600). So there goes my Rota wheels for now...

=(

Default same thing happened to me

the same thing happened to me at regal cinimas and the theif stole my tom tom nav in my cubby...the cop ran a fingerprint test and found nothing. I found it cheaper to repair it my self. the glass was $236 and to install it was $96 instead of going through the insurance which was a $500 deductable. i will never again go to a bad area in my 350z. it took about a week for nissan to order the glass. in the meantime i got a roll of saran wrap and blue painters tap and clear duct tape and made a temporary drivers window... it was a pain to enter and exit the car.
