Default Is the Z "cheap"?

I noticed my friend and I have a lot of similar problems with our Z's. I have a 2007 Base Z, and my friend has a 2004/2005 Z. Some of the problems have already been addressed here before, such as the vinyl-wrapepd door handles that seem to scratch easily.

But another thing that has been bugging me is a window problem I have. When the passenger window is down and I press the button for the window to automatically come up, it comes up but automatically goes down halfway. I don't know if that makes sense. It's a really retarded problem. I've had this problem twice and have taken it to dealership and they replace it, same problem.

Another probelm I have is a damn dash rattle that bugs the sht out of me. It happens random times when I drive.

Another problem is that the passenger-side side skirt is starting to come. It's like the part is hanging.

This has led me to believe that the Z is pretty much ******** when it comes to interior. Anyone else have similar Z problems?

Only issue mine had ('04.5) was tire feathering (aftermarket rims fixed that), the annoying dashboard rattle and oil streaks on the window.

The Z is not cheap. All cars have their own problems. It can get worse if you buy it used and the previous owner mishandled it

I liked my 350Z, actually. But it wasn't the pillar of refinement & reliability some would have you believe.

Our 08 Civic for 20k doesn't rattle. It's more than just the price, Chevy still builds sh*tty cars.

My Z is now 2 years old with 17k of miles with not one single rattle. It has never been to the dealer for service yet other than the HR clutch recall.

Whats up with the 350z fuel covers....mine is not flush with the body and I've seen some other Zs with the same problem. Is there a fix for this?

i have the fixes to some problems. the dash rattle. it is under the plastic at the bottom right hand corner of the dash. seems nissan used a bolt in bracket with a hook at the top that screeches over bumps at times. all I did was unbolt the bracket and put a rag behind the hook and bolted it back up, fixed the rattle to this day.

window motors
are a pain in the ***. never had driver side issues but i have replaced the passenger side motor 4 FOUR times!!!! FOUR! JESUS! COMMON NISSAN! and its startin to f up on me again!! i hate that motor and i dont have a fix. just keep throwing new ones in.

FACTORY AMP FOR SUB
PISSES ME OFF! i gotta tap it every time it cuts out, which is every 3 minutes or less. no fix but going to replace it with a aftermarket 250 watt soon

thats all of my issues tho, very minimal. the dash rattle was by far the worst and i am happy not hearing squeeks going down the road anymore

Maybe the 06's and up had most of these problems cured. The only problem I have mentioned by the op is the scratches on the door. Other than that my car is perfectly sound. A little loud in interior noise. But brand new the car was only 26k and Nissan has to keep the costs low some how. Also the Z is prone to paint fade. Cheap yes but man everytime I see my baby I damn near cry. Just make it to your standards and I bet you wouldn't be dissapointed.

I have an 03 and just turned 72k miles on it. I don't have any rattles other than the rear view mirror when my music is up.

The 350Z is more reliable than some vehicles. Less than others. What is your point?
