it runs on a DVD system, but can it play DVD movies? ive never seen this addressed before, and was curious about it.

Sorry I can't help out, but I wanted to thank you because I've been wondering the same thing. My guess is that they could have made it play DVD's for a mere $10 a car, but they didn't spend the money, so it will read a DVD but it won't play it.

 

Try using the search function, as there should be loads of threads about the navigation system. I believe you need an adaptor, it does not play dvd's as is.

 

Nope, it won't play DVD movies. There are tons of threads about it.......some people have made modifications to be able to do this. A couple of companies make some boxes which enable inputs such as TV, DVD Movies, PS2's etc, to play on the Nav Screen.
