Anyone get out of deposit at dealer?
Curious if anyone who has had to pull out of their preorder spot has had trouble getting their deposit back. I've read several other posts that mention this, but until now I haven't seen a thread specifically addressing this issue. On the back on my Vehicle Purchase Contract it does state that my deposit is nonrefundable, but due to circumstances beyond my control it looks like I won't be able to get my Z. After ordering in Feb and finding out that I wouldn't get my car until Nov, I was disappointed but was planning on waiting it out. Doesn't look like I'll be able to now. No sympathy here, just looking for dealer experiences regarding the deposit being returned.
There have been people that pulled out that had "nonrefundable" deposits, but did get their money back. The dealership will have no problem selling the car, so its not like they are out much. Worst case, sell your spot to someone else. Once this car has become more public, you should have no problems. Might even make a profit if you do it right. Just check with the dealer first to be sure they are cool with transfering you car to someone else.
