What would it take for you to buy a 370Z?

luv the interior, undecided on the headlights, and the rear ends gotta go, fangs get a thumbs down, luv the thro back quater window. in a few years when the price drops i would consider it

I like the 370 however, just dont seem worth the price. Im paying $310.00 a month for my 06 350 and im two years in on a 4 yr loan. Other then pure WANTS, i cant see the benefit of the purchase! one day maybe, Just my .02.

I just picked up my 07 a couple of weeks ago, after a long period of looking and considering the 370 as well, and let me tell you there are so many reasons why I didn't go with the 370.
First and foremost, I just don't dig the look, the front fangs, the back, pretty much the entire body, I don't know it seems.....smaller, I think the 350 body just looks sooo much better, and, i don't know, meaner maybe? Something about the front fender flares on the 350 z that's crucial in it's look, just narrowed out on the 370.....
Now, with the way the economy is and the abismal price difference between a new 370 and a pre-owned, low mileage 07/08 350 make it pretty much a no brainer.....the 370 offers a few more ponies that can be easily made up on the 350 with a few bolt ons.....it's just not worth it...
The 370 was released at the worse time possible, pretty much like the new camaro......

the 350z's front a rear bumper lower curves from a side view seem to go more straight down giving it a lower look. the 370z looks too rounded off to me. and yeah they are smaller thats one of there advertising points

Would I sell my 350 for a 370? No, purchased the 350 over 5 years ago to keep. Hopefully I will have it for many years to come. Will a 370 reside in my garage, well who knows. There are so many toy cars to consider.

I was in the market for a car a few months ago and test drove both the 08 Z and the 370Z.
Things I liked about the 370
- I actually like the styling over the 350
- Interior was nice
- Rear cargo space without the rear strut
Things I didn't like
- I liked the 350's gauges over the 370's
- PRICE
- new car's reliability.
- headlights/tailights
- marginal increase in performance
If I had an extra 10k I would have bought the 370 then. However, I got a brand new 08 for 25k and it was just hard to pass that up.
With that said though, I'm also really curious to see what times Fords new mustang is going to put down. For 2011 it has been said they will be droping in a new 5.0 putting out around 400 hp/torque (same motor will go into new F150). If they can keep the weight down to what it is now, it may be another car for me to look at.

I have to agree with all the others on here.... Most of us who bought 350z's have them paid off already, and we all took GREAT care of them, and if anything, have only recently finished modding them. I know my car is brand new again aside from the actual miles now. I know my car build only happened AFTER I saw a 370z, saw the price tag, and thought about owing 25k again ...or to just throw 10k at what I have already and have NO payments still and MORE HP...and a unique car. The 370 would be super pimp..... but only for someone who didnt ALREADY have a Z.

yea, it's so much more superior in performance

1. definitely more $$$
2. fix the current issues on the 370Z (overheating, brakes, watever other outstanding issues)
3. if they went back to factory FI like on the 300ZX
4. a change to the style (- fang, -buttplug)

here's my .02. i hate the rear of the car. it looks from the side looking to the rear (in my opinion) like a dmn crossfire from the rear. the rear end is horrible. the front without the fangs looks amazing and the gage is super tacky. performance is there. but with the price diff. a single turbo could b built to outrun it. everyone stick with the 350z the looks is better and thats what counts the most. there you have it my .02 anyone else agree

fangs and boomerang heads and tails have to go. yes, these minor styling flaws would prevent me from getting one. I won't be shopping for one anyways, but those are my only concerns had it hit the market when I was looking to buy a Z.

I daily drive my Z. It's at 100k miles. When the engine goes or when I hit 200k, I'll be ready to purchase a used 2010 370. While it's exciting to get a brand new car, it's best not to grab the first model year. Also, I personally think cars are one of the worst investments you can make unless you're throwing down serious cash on serious cars. This being the case, I can't justify buying the car new when I can find a well-kept used one for thousands of dollars less.
... but that's just me.
I basically like everything about the car... the Nismo edition looks great.

I think the lesson from this is that Nissan should have shelved the Z for a few years to build demand for the next model. This can probably be said for all sports cars. They just don't get replaced as often as daily's unless there is a massive leap in technology/performance/quality/styling.
