I'd go with the z06 for sure, just my opinion. I have driven both cars & the z06 is the ultimate sports car. I love my Z, but nothing beats breaking your tires loose in 2nd, 3rd & 4th gears without much problems

If this gives you any indication I traded my C5 in for a Z
It was black it had a tri flow exaust, dual air intake
and those rare BBS LM4 wheels
even with all that i still liked the Z the corvette compared to the z seems old in styling.
i admit the loss of power was noticable but i think the Z handles a little better.
i was thinking of getting a new C6 next year but from the spy photos it doesnt look that much different than a C5. im gonna keep the Z

I used to share a 99 Vette 6 spd with my bro and admit that it has more power but I love the attention I get in my Z. I love the total maturity of the Zs handling and drive as well.
Personally I think you are getting RIPPED off bad on the Z. I got my new 03'enthuziast for $26,900. You can get a used track model Z for $27K. I dont know if that's how it works in Panama but in the US you can get Zs and Vettes used for dirt CHEAP.

The price on the Z06 doesnt seem right. And the Z is way too much. There is no comparison with performance between them. But the Z has better styling, easier on the wallet(gas, insurance, maintanance). Unless your planning to track your car, you dont need all that power on the street.

I'm not real fond of yellow, but comparing a Z to a Corvette is unfair. There is no doubt in my mind I would take a Corvette over a Z (or most cars for that matter) everyday of the week and twice on Sunday. The choice is an easy one

I agree with several of these responses: The prices don't seem to make sense. The bottom line is, if you feel comfortable paying the price of a good Z06, get it. It's a first-rate car. If I didn't have the expense of the Ferrari maintenance, I would buy a Corvette ahead of the Z. But when you compare real prices, the Z holds its own very well. Remember, the Z is new; the Corvette could be very well used.

Well, considering there is a $6,400 markup from invoice to MSRP on all Z06's, it gives the dealerships a lot of room to move on. Obviously, in this case (Ebay auction and Panama dealership) there is a lack of demand for these cars. I know in my area, you will NOT find used Z06's this cheap. My opinion sill remains that the corvettes in general are too common and for the same amount of money for a used Z06 you can have a NEW supercharged Z that will get more looks and do just as well on the track.

I have been driving a POS for five years now. I finally decided that I was going to buy something nice, new and loaded to the hilt with options. Price didn't concern me, all I cared about was the product I could get for the money. When all was said and done, it came down to the Vette and the Z. The Vette is yesterdays news, and IMO not worth the extra $20K. I went with the Z in question ('04 DB T 6MT loaded), and believe me, with $20K left over to spend on mods, I'll wave to every Vette I see as I pass them.
