you obviously don't know. by the simple fact of slowing down for 80mph to 65mph you can save UP to 3mpg. on a 20gal tank, thats another 60mi you can go before fill ups. if you have the money to be spending on all the extra fill ups, toss me some money

Not really. I'm easy on mine for normal day to day driving to and from work, but when i want to play, i play. Then i also beat the crap out of it on the racetrack when possible.

Daily driving its set to 5k now in both cars, then on the track its set up to 6100 just to cause me to look for a sec. I think i notice the light maybe once a session.

i put mine at 8200 (HR) so that it starts to blink when it gets near 7500 rpm, i dont like to see it go solid i dunno why lol.

i also dont like to see it blink too early before 7500, so its set a few hundred rpm before 7500 so it blinks exactly when i want it to ;]

7700...even for an HR that's wierd, I know. I do it because the light starts blinking at about 7300. When I'm climbing through the gears at night navigating, I see that light start blinking and I know to shift as soon as I see the red light. When going fast I don't pay attention to if it's blinking or not. I just can't tell and I don't want to distract myself looking at it.

For those talking about MPG, during autox this weekend since my guage was flashing at me that I had low miles left till emtpy I reset my MPG. AVG spd to see what kind of mileage I get during autox... a whopping 3.5MPG lol.

So MT drivers bash AT drivers for having a car that shifts for them, yet see nothing wrong with the car telling them when to shift. Oh, the irony...

I have never seen mine come on. The only reason I even know it is set at 6600 is because I see it when I am scrolling through the temp, mpg, etc. For my driving I think it is a pretty worthless feature. My old RX7 used to buzz instead and I thought it was gay to have a warning system on when to shift. But I don't track mine or commute on a highway, so maybe its good for that purpose.

it turns solid when you hit the rpm number you set it to, i.e. light turns solid at 5000 rpm if you set it at 5000

3500 rpm.

Why? because when passengers see it, they think it's badass.

6400 in my '05, never really pay much attention to it. I do like the idea of setting it so it will start flashing at a certain speed on the interstate though, I tend to let the speed wander a little higher than I should.

LOL I didn't even know this light even existed. I'm too busy keeping my eyes on the road looking for potholes and bumps to dodge. Where do I find this and how do I use it?
