I might not qualify for this tread, but I set mine to the highest possible. I did have it up to 3500 rpm when the wife was test driving my Z. 1st thing is that she doesn't know how to drive a MT and the Z is just that much unforgiving with the clutch.

The highest so I don't ever see it. For the 06's what is it? Is it 8k or 7500 whatever it is thats where it stays. When I'm in conventional mode (rolling with the wife) I bring it down a notch to 6500 rpm. She loves the sound it makes and doesn't mind working extra hard for the gas used either.

I set mine way down when gas was $4 a gallon to remind me to shift earlier in day-to-day driving, but didn't really see all that much improvement in mileage so it is back to 6600 or so now. After 6 years, I don't really notice it all that much anyway, I shift by feel as much as anything.

if you are worried about changing your driving habits to save a little bit of gas might as well go buy a prius

i disagree. you can drive a fun car but still do minor things to conserve gas. otherwise everyone that cared about gas mileage would be driving a hybrid and the rest would drive bugatti veyrons

6300 for my '03, I never notice it at the track, only on the street sometimes especially when it is dim or at night.

For those talking about MPG, during autox this weekend since my guage was flashing at me that I had low miles left till emtpy I reset my MPG. AVG spd to see what kind of mileage I get during autox... a whopping 3.5MPG lol.
