I'm with you man, I was deployed from September 08 to April this year. I bought my Z about 2 months after deploying...it was crazy how much I wanted to get back and drive it. So after being back to Germany for a couple months, I finally flew home a few weeks ago and took possession of it and shipped it over here. Then I got news I am soon deploying yet again.

and aircraft mechanic huh i can relate KC-10/C17 Fuel Cell Maintaner
worst part about this job tho is we deploy alllllllllllll the time
I'm a vehicle mechanic, specifically an aircraft refuler mechanic. My car will be here in roughly 19 more days, so I will have plenty of time to take it out on the 'Bahn before I deploy. I actually like deploying and working in smaller shops. It's nice to actually see your accomplishments in action.

this is very true. but the parts in the middle when you are sitting there with absolutly nothing to do time goes by very slow. nothing is like watching a jet take off that you fixed though
yeah I imagine its a pretty good feeling. I love sitting around with nothing better to do. It's the only time I manage to get on this site and do research/watch people get clowned on/occasionally get clowned on/buy stuff.

I can't stand threads like this. Not because all of use airman and soldiers are in the desert but because we are all away from our Z's and wives. I've got only 10 or so months left before I can dd my dd and test drive my wife again.
Been so long I forget the smell, the power, the non lsd slides in the rain, the fun we have had in this 10k mile journey of what seems like a roller coaster.
Ah oh well those 4.08's and 100 shot coming soon should do it very much justice.

Feeling the love from Afghan land. Be here till March 2010. AH64 driver so I get to have a little bit of fun. Miss the car like whoa. Dad has it now keeping it shiney and clean. Takes it out on the weekends and has a blast. Good to know its getting a workout and being pampered while I am gone. Cant imagine what people think when they see my 62yr old father and 49yr old mother boosting past them, open dump blasting followed with a very pronounced blow off........priceless mental image
