Default Heated Seats Question

I think i'm having a problem with my heated seats, and I just wanted to make sure they're messed up before I call my dealer again.

When I put the seats on the low temp, they seem to stay on until I turn them off. When on the high setting, they heat up for maybe 5 minutes and it feels like it cuts off on its own, even though the button is still pressed. I took it to the dealer and the tech said they are working the way they are supposed to. He also said if its warm outside, they wouldn't cut on because they are set to some external temp gauge. Sounds like horseshit to me. Anyone else with heated seats who can tell me what yours is like?

Man i love this site!

Its starting to get really cold in the mornings here in northern va and ive just started using the seat warmers these past couple weeks. Ive noticed the same exact thing above with my seat as well.

In addition id like to add a question. Anyone notice that the butt area gets really warm, but the back area i can hardly feel any heat? Ive been wondering this for a while and i was gonna post this question to other heated seat owners. I've never had heated seats before, so im not sure how its supposed to feel. But i imagined that when i turned on the seat warmers that i would feel consistant heat throughout the whole seat. Id rather it heat more in the back than the butt. Ive also adjusted seat back position to make sure it wasnt my seating position. Ive also worn diff clothes with the same results. Full suit, to shorts and a t-shirt.

Any replies will help. Thanks

You're right. The high setting does have an auto-reduce feature (so you don't "toast your buns" so to speak), and I believe the sensor is within the seat (works like a thermostat for the seat heaters).

The low setting is low, but provides just enough heat to take the edge off the cold leather.

spud: My seats feel like they warm up in the back as much as the *** part . . .

Z33Fan: I could understand having an auto reduce feature, but this seems like its more than that. It turns off to the point where it feels like it isnt even on anymore. The low setting feels hotter than the high setting.

not sure never noticed really, I just turn em on hgih and Im pretty happy.

I can say the auto off feature to the outside temp is BS, cause on a 90degree day my *** was sweating cause I accidently hit the button. it wasnt off on its own.

as for the back, only about half of the back gets warm, I dont mind, its half more than my dads pontiac gets. his is the *** and ONLY the ***.

I dont think theres anything wrong in my uninformed opinion, might not work how you expect it should work, but doesnt mean its not working as it should work.
