Default hit a DOG :(

Today when i was driving some how a dog jumped out in front of me and i accidently hit him. Dont know how i didnt see him on the side of the street. But he started to run as fast as he could accross the street and i slammed on my breaks but still hit him or her..

The dog ran off and looked fine (didnt chase it or anything) hope hes ok. But now my car has a hole in the bumper and dents and stuff....

Went to body repair shop and he said i had 2 options...

Fix the bumper with a kit he has. He said it would look basically new. He would have to repaint the bumper tho...

Cost for this is $330....

Or i could get a whole new bumper get that painted and the cost for that would be $540... I might call around to see if i can get a better price but my brother took his car there when he hit a dog (something in the family i think?) and they did a excellent job.. (he got his bumper replaced tho)...

I cant decide on what i should do. Any opinions would be appreciated.

Thanks

I hate when things like that happen. We have strict leash laws here, so if you hit a dog, it's the owner's fault (doesn't make you feel any better, though).

If your car still is new or looks new, go the extra money for a new bumper and do the repair right.

Sounds like a fair price to me. I would replace it. Although I got rear ended and have lived with it since it made a perfect hegagon screw shape right in the center of the rear bumper. They told me it would be $800 but thats Chicago for ya.

Ya. I did go back to look for the dog but he wasnt there. I atleast hope the dog is OK. I dont think my tires ran over him. My bumper hit him and he sordof bounced forward..

My main concern about my car is the paint matching.

ya was thinking about aftermarket. What kind of aftermarket bumpers are there?

Yes my paint matched perfectly except for right above the doors in certain lights.... I remembre looking at the blue the bumper was a little lighter than the rest of the car....

Get a full nismo body kit (it comes with a new front bumper). They sell a replica kit on this forum if you look in the b/s/t forum.

Actually I had my rear bumper repainted due to an accident and it now matches the car better than it di before, now the front bumper and gas cap are the only things that don't match.

If I didn't have the clear bra on I would have repainted the front as well.
