Default Front Grill

I've been seeing a lot of different front grill mods on the Z.....they all look pretty good.
From YOUR OWN EXPERIENCE, please advise....

---which one to get?
---how well does it fit?
---and how is the quality of the one you have.

Thank you.

I ordered and installed the grill shown on the courtesyparts.com ($200 + shipping). Fits extremely well and no complaints on the quality. Easy to install if you have already install an Injen CAI. I say that because there is a part that must also be removed on the left front the you had previously removed on the right front. Courtesy said they were going to modify instructions.

I got mine from grill-tech off of ebay. It was around $50 with shipping. It looks good, however it took them awhile to send it, and the method of attachment was some crappy zip ties. It was kind of a pain in the rear to put on also. The fit is perfect, as it is custom made for the 350 grill, and has some rubber coating around the edge of it so that it won't scratch the paint in the process of putting it on. Now that I have it and its installed though, it does look really good and I'm very happy with it.

Hey Ron,

I have the same grill insert as you from Courtesy Nissan. Last time I did a nice wash / wax job I noticed something that REALLY pissed me off. IT seems as though I may have tightened the grill insert a little bit too much on the far ends. It seems that the original plastic grill is now bent from behind. I can also see small indents in the plastic behind the metal grill insert on the front side of the original plastic grill. (You can't see it at all with the insert on, but I don't think I'll ever be taking it off now.)

If you would, please tell me if you have the same issue if you look closely. If you don't yet, be sure you didn't over tighten the fasteners!

Thanks,

Thanks for the "heads up"! Don't know if I tightened it too tight or not. My concern when installing that it was snug! Did not want movement. Given an opportunity I will remove on of the support and look. Will let you know! Like you, do not have any intention of removing, unless something better comes along. I get a lot of "looks good" from "Z" owners, potential "Z" owners
and sales personnel at my local Nissan dealer.

Default Grill

This bar type grill on my car is from a Nissan store in Glendale, AZ. (joegoulette@westvalleynissan.com) Talk to Joe (parts mgr.) for more info. It is really a classy looking addition to the otherwise barren grill opening and many positive comments on it. BTW, it is not the Courtesy grill. Regards, Jim

Thumbs up

Grille-Tech has been on my ride for several months now, and it is still looking and performing quite well!
With several styles to dchoose from, you can't go wrong. VERY easy to install and remove.

Pharmboy, It sells for $239, but w/club discount I paid $ 159. It is of very solid design and quality, nothing flimsy at all. As to the install, I had the dealer install it because it is not a tie wrap kind of design, but it bols/screws in to where the grill used to be. Yes, the original grill must be removed first. Regards, Jim
