Default How does this deal sound?..

I was readin the news paper today, and my local nissan dealership has the 04 coming in. And they're tryin to get rid of their 03's...

So this is what it says on the ad.

"New 2003 Nissan 350Z TOURING ****$27,488****

Sutherlin price ( nissan dealership in ft myers, florida) $38,782
Price Slash... -$8,295
cash or trade equity...-2,999"

I'm going to the dealers tomorrow and check them out. That's hella good deal on a touring edition in my opinion. But i have to see if it's available in my color section.

Do you think i can still mark couple of hundred/thousand off that pricing? 27,488 is Very good IMO.

I even called up my insurance company today and got a quote from them. I'll only be paying couple of hundred dollars more yearly if i get the Z. Wish me luck and tell me what you think about that price for a touring.

I bet you there is a catch there, and guess what, I bet that car is a DEMO.

Let me know if I am wrong. That is one hell of a deal if that is a touring for that price.

There is a catch though. $50 says its either a demo or that the vehicle is used.

Let me know either way on the color, options, and especially the miles. GL

If I am not mistaken that $2999 is your downpayment, so actually the price is really $30,487.

Thanks for the head up.

Going to take a look allllll around that car tomorrow...

Should i ask them if the car's used for test drives and so on?...
If he/she says no, and the mileage proofs that it isn't. Then i'll get my dad to check it out.

If the mileage is somewhat over the limit im lookin at. Then hopefully i'll look for a Enthusiast trim.

I'm actually trading in my car for it.

Hopefully they'll buy it for around 9,000 or so. ( still owe money on the car $8,000)

If they do.

then i will not have problems with that amount being shown as the 2,999.

Because over all pricing on that car would be.

25,000 or so

And i'll put down 5,000 for the downpayment.

And one more thing.

Does it really matter that much that if the car is a DEMO?..

Did anyone buy a demo Z on this board?...if so...did ya run into problems yet?...

100-200 miles on the Z shouldn't be a problem would it?...

ALL dealers do this. READ the paper every sunday. They have 1 or 2 cars in the paper with a deal that is incredible. LIke $12K off , ect. you go to the dealer and guess what, its a flippin demo, or its already been sold.

Its a ploy to get you on the lot and lock you in their dealership until you sign the papers. BUYER BEWARE!

If your gonna buy a used car then buy a used 03" track for the same price. You can get a used touring for under $25K. Id sell your car on autotrader too because the dealership will stick it to ya or give ya the...."were giving you more than we wanted for your trade in so we cannot budge on the 350Z."

What he said ...$27,488 for a touring sounds way too good to be true. $30,487 also seems to be tiptoeing the too good to be true line, come to think of it. There are several dearlerships in my area that are notorious for flashing a ridiculously low price in the ad, then adding microscopic fine print saying that price assumes a $3000 downpayment. If the price really is that low, then they're probably trying to sneak a demo or a used vehicle past some unsuspecting patsy. All I can say is proceed with caution...

I can't believe you just said "patsy." You pass the MA native test for sure.

I just e-mailed them and asked them about that vehicle sale you mentioned, hopefully I will get a response tomorrow.

One last ?, Has it hailed there recently?

Those car dealers just sit in a room rubbing their hands fiendishly while they have a more intelligent person with opposable digits writing the add. Thats how I think its done anyway.

You gotta be wicked smaht about these things. (ha, boston) I sold cars at a nissan dealership (pre -350Z release) and believe me when I tell you that car dealers, F&I guys, etc...treat every day as a game with the object being sell as many cars for as much profit as possible. MOST (not all) dealerships teach their sales people that everyone can be sold. If they are at the dealership looking there is no reason they shouldn't buy a car from you. Unfortunately MOST (not all) sales people don't care about your financial situation, how you like the car after the purchase etc...they just want to sell you, period, and if you are unsure of what questions to ask to make sure this deal is ok you could very easily get in trouble. Be smart and don't overextend yourself.

Its like the Kia/Hyundai ads: They spend millions advertising this:

7 year or 100,00 miles warranty: The average Joe thinks that is bumper to bumper. READ THE FINE PRINT: It only covers parts of the transmissions and only parts of the engine.

That dealer is probably about as greedy as my dealership: Check out this sticker on an 04 Roadster at my sleazy dealership:

They had an 03 touring, that was a demo, and they were selling it for like $37K. (If they only knew, that I knew it was in the body shop getting repainted because it had front end damage. The sad part is they don't tell the customer that).

Anyway here's the RIPOFF PICTURE. who in their right mind would pay that markup?
