Default The inevitable finally happened

Well it only took 4 months but when I walked out to my car this morning the first thing I notice was a ding on the driver side door. Although very small it caught my eye. I pointed it out to my friends and they said they couldn't even see it, but now i notice it everytime I go to my car. I can't help it I am very meticulous (Sp) and notice everything. I just needed to vent a little because I know you guys understand how I feel.

that sucks.

my Z will be celebrating its one year birthday in less than two weeks and it still is dingless. (gotta go knock on wood)

But on the negative side, I got paint chips all over the front bumber and three on the hood (one is very noticable).

I just got my first ding too...not even 3 weeks old Someone in my apartment complex opened their door into me which takes massive talent (and incompetnancy) because the parking spots at my place are about the largest i've ever seen. I used dry ice to freeze it out then washed, polished, and buffed. Can hardly see it now...one day when I have another one or something I'll go to a PDR place and have it pushed back out.

Man I know how much that sucks. When I had my WRX and IS300 I use to park them in BFE, and then when I came out of where ever I went there would be like 9 cars around mine

So I would go home and inspect it. There would be like 4 door dings, so I would call up the local dent company that does the PDR for the dealership I work at, and had them do it. Well after this kept happening, I got tired of paying $65 bucks here $35 there. So I finally asked the owner how a young person like meself could get into this business.

Well lets just say anyone in the Dallas area or near by areas shoot me a PM and I will give you a great deal if not do it for free depending on where it is located. Always there to help a fellow Z member out

A$$es. What about ***** that park next to you on purpose?

I came out of a restaurant yesterday and noticed a pick up truck was parked RIGHT next to me. Mind you, there were tons of other spaces closer to the restaurant the whole night and he was doing it just to be a *****. I wasnt taking up 2 spaces or anything...I was very far away. His truck was so close the doors could touch. So, I laid a fresh layer of spit all over his driver's side window and placed a big wod of chewed gum on his side mirror. Tired of these jealous hillbillies

That's too funny David. I have the same pehnomenon happen to me too. I could park my car in the middle of death valley and within 10 minutes there would be at least 4 cars around mine driven by semi-drunk 19 year old girls going to party (this HAS happened actually). Then I move my car (don't trust drunk girls) and it's rinse, wash, and repeat.

I feel all of your pain. Luckily, I've had the Z for 3 weeks and have avoided all door dings, they drive me NUTS. The worst part about it is that people have no respect for your property.

I jsut made my first trip from Baltimore to Norfolk with an OEM bra on. Once I made it to Norfolk and did a once over on the Z, I noticed a couple chips on the hood <---that was literally my expression. I just can't win. The worst part is that I'm going to be making this trip every couple of months.

Sorry about your first ding man. But usually door dings can be pushed out by dent clinic people without too much difficulties. But feel you pain. Believe me, door dings are my worst nightmares.

But why is it that people always park next and close to you when there are tons of parking spaces around?

Last Sunday after spending almost 2 hours washing and waxing my Z, a lady pulled in next to me (again tons of empty stalls all around me) so fast I thought she was going to hit me. Lucky she didn't. But after she parked, she was so close to my car I knew she was going to hit me when she opened her door. I immediately rushed to her and asked her if she'd mind wait just a second as I was just leaving. She said no, because she was in a hurry to take her baby to the daycare centre. And that's when I saw the huge carseat with the baby inside. I could just picture when she opened the door to take her baby out, her butt was going to push her door right into my car. So I told her it'll only take a second for me to back out and leave, to which she again replied "NO". Anyways, I ended up sandwitching myself between her door and mine and I refused to move. She ended up having to get her baby out through the other door although it meant she had to reach over to get her baby out of the carseat.

After she got her baby out, she turned to me and said, "what's the big deal anyways, it's just a car". I didn't even bother dignifying her comment with a response.

I have come to the conclusion that some people just don't understand.............frustrating as hell......

I feel your pain man. I was on 495 the other week to visit a friend. Have little nicks on hood and fenders now. This was my expression

But....

unless you're Z is going to be a show car or garage *****, don't worry. The nicks and scratches (and sometimes door dings!) are unavoidable. Life's too short to be worrying about that stuff (I've come to realize). If it gets bad, get it touched up professionally. Not much else you can do. My brother (wherever he is ) gave me the best advice on this. When you start seeing all these imperfections, step back 5 feet and look at the car again.

Thats the trouble with owning a Z when you are in college, I live in an apartment complex and on the weekend there is nothing but drunken college kids leaving and just so happens they slam there door into my car. The first ding is always the hardest to accept, but I appreciate all the support.

No dings yet here, but today, I finally scraped the under part of my front bumper. A portly friend was in my car and it was an unusually steep driveway. Fortunately, it's in an area people don't pay attention to, so I'll probably get some touch-up paint and have done with it.
