yea, vdubs can be tuned with the best of them. a guy told me (which believe nothing you hear, and half of what you see) that vw jettas are one of the best engine platforms to tune for all sorts of
pureist fans.
just saying. ive heard plenum spacers are nice to add to your car. that and maybe a programmer. youd be seeing his headlights in your mirrors.
**note** 350z's arnt meant exactly as a 10 second race, they are sprinter cars, thats why the nismo factory tune is mostly just a nice exhuast and a suspension tune. its so you can hit the corners faster. so all in all, quit trying to drag race and blow your engine. unless you have some money and can put forced injection, pistons, heads, full exhuast, plenum spacer, program tune, new wireing, spark plugs, boost controllers, throttle body, new gearing, suspension to handle the new power, expensive gas, expensive oil, sticky tires, time and knowledge to make sure the engine is in top condition and gagues to make sure everything is okay during your 10 second run or track race. then yea the next person that has some tuning , in a drag race, will be faster. go take it on the track or in the mountains/backroads for real racing. that way you have to depend on your handeling skills and knowing how far to push your cars around corners, instead of just relieing on shifting and your engine output, cuase really if your a great driver and have a great handeling car, you can get pu there in the time trials in a stock 350z. thats just my oppinion. and venting. **end note**
good luck

Not true. My car is definitely faster with the TCS off.

for a car under 20k i think the power is pretty good.

i'm just curious to why you bought it, if you weren't satisfied by its performance.

Unless I missed it, you have no benchmark to determine if it is slow for a Z or if it is the aftermarket parts or ?????? Take it to a drag race and if turns a 15, it is indeed slow for a Z.....or it could be you. Aftermarket parts on a N/A Z do sometimes slow it down, but not usually enough to notice.

say no to street racing...

for an 06, get a MREV2, test pipes or High flow cats, and get a tune...

are you auto or manual?

The VW was probably modded..

This will decimate all AFTER you put about fifteen grand in it or more, and if we have to, overnight parts from Japan.

have you checked your clutches life? it could be due to slippage. if your clutch is slipping that might explain your situation.

So...can we discuss this 'not clutching first to second gear' as stated by OP in earlier post? It seems to me that would cause clutch slippage/tranny issues down the road? does anybody else drive like that?

Not to go off topic I was just wondering
