if he's 16 and thats really his car and not his dad's.. then cool. i wish my dad bought me a car at 16.. instead i inherited the chevy astro van and pimped the ladies at track practice haha.

Have fun with the Z. When I was 16 I got a $1,400 1964 Ford Fairlane coupe.

Do what I am planning to do, wait another 2 years till a few Zs hit the used market and pick up one for $20,000. Nissan cars are great and last a long time, so why not go used. Though it won't compare to getting the car new or getting the car now because it won't have the same attention getter that is has right now.
My other reason for waiting is hopefully my insurance rates go down as I will be older. For now, I am happy with my Maxima....but if by next year, my urge is still there, I may just get a new Z because I will be out of college by next summer.
I am pretty young also...only 21 years old but I have run a business for the last 3 years which makes money, plus I am a full-time college student with good grades plus I am looking for a part-time job right now to make some extra money on the side.
So I think I deserve something nice, I work my butt off! And if you are young and working hard, then you deserve this car! Nothing like driving a sports car when you young!

Sorry for asking, but I have trouble with the math and need your help. You just turned 16, 2 months ago. What type of work that you have been doing since you're born that can earn enough money to pay for 3/4 of the Z. As I recall, this country have child labor law. My son mow lawn and pet sitting for neighbors for several summers and earn enough money to pay for half of his car insurance and extra money for gas when he turned 16.

I have noticed a lot of these teenagers saying, I'm paying for this car... Man what a difference 20+ years makes. When I was sixteen, I was making $3.10/hr... Had to buy my own car (used), pay for my own gas and insurance and oh yeah, pay rent to my parents. There was no way I could afford a new vehicle.
I am curious as to how much these kids are making, because they surely can't afford a Z on what McDonald's is paying them part time and go to school.
