for the life of me, every single time i have a passenger they always slam my door. telling them doesnt work, i can remind them every single time, but when i yell at them, telling them it messes up the window motors, they argue back. it pisses me off!!! my QUESTION is, is there some sort of stopper that would prevent the door from being slammed, something that could cushion the slamming of the doors?

 

I know! Everybody is always slamming my back hatch too. But there's nothing that can be done about it...the passenger doors aren't on hydraulics, they're just on hinges, so there's no way to change the way it shuts.

The back hatch is hydraulic, but you really shouldn't adjust it beyond the pre-existing strength, because it'll start undoing its connection with the hatch...

Idk man, but don't worry about it too much.

Next time it happens. Open the door, tell them to put their hand where it closes, then slam it. Ask them how they like it.:-)

What to do if it is your teenage daughter? I have to remind her every single time although now that she has her own car, she doesn't ride around with dad much, lol. I like the slamming their hand in the door idea tho...that should leave an indelible impression - well, at least a mark

I too have this problem and almost every single SOB does this to me so i now reach and hold out my hand as a buffer every time if have a passanger to stop it... Drives me nuts! all my passengers seem to have cars that have heavy doors IE: porsche, audi etc..

 

It's called a .45 ACP, shove it in their face before they get out and say "slam the door one more time, I wish you would".

Seriously though, I feel you on that one man. My wife does it on occasion, ticks me off. She says the doors are heavier than she is used to.

 

if its a female, just slap her across the face.

they wont slam the door ever again (and most likely wont ever get into your car, but it solves the problem).
