Default I'm glad rest of you 350Z owners are mature.

I'm an avid fan of Nissan and Z cars.
I always have been, as far as I can remember
By the time I turned 16 years of age with a driver's license, I dreamed of owning a 300ZX, but my oldman wasn't going to let me pay that much for a used car.
When graduation neared (college), I was thinking of purchasing a new car, 350Z was just around the corner. I was extremely close to getting a fully loaded 2003 Touring model for almost 3K under MSRP. Which was a good deal at the time (October of 2002). Except, I changed my mind at the last minute. Now I'm about to order a 2004 BMW M3, it wasn't an easy decision, it took me over a year of planning... I'm happy with my decision, however I still can't completely turn away from 350Z.
With that said, I'm so glad you 350Z owners are mature and none like the Honda Civic rice rocket owners. I hate them with a passion, I'm also glad 350Z attracts this kind of audience.
Ride hard, fellow 350Z fans!

Honda's affordability makes Civics more accessible to the public, which includes teenage boys. I'm 22 now, and I HATE some of those punks. (no offense to anyone here) Their immaturity causes them to vandalize some of our member's Z's.

On a lighter note...welcome to the forum.

M3 is a nice car. It looks as good as the 350z but its FASTER. I'd choose m3 if I had the money. CONGRATS.

When I opened the thread, I thought that the title was a sarcastic remark and I was going to read another thread filled with useless knowledge, banter, and other general things that will lower my IQ by at least another 2 points, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was actually someone being respectful. With that said, you have a tough decision at hand. I, like many others, would probably have seriously looked at an M3, but it was out of my budget, and I can see it being out of many people's budget. The M3 is very nice, but it just depends on your style. I think the M3 is a little more sophisticated, while the Z is more appealing and has better lines, etc. With the M3, not everyone knows it's capabilities and it is sometimes underestimated. Because of the Z's design, I have found that many have thought it to cost more then it really was (those who don't know cars presume that it cost upwards of 40k plus, stock). I think even if I had the money for the M3, I would still get the Z and put the extra money into mods, but that's just because it appeals more to me. It all depends on your taste and what you like. For the record though, there's a thread on here where a member with a procharged z completely annihilated an M3 .

I've seen it, it's all over the M3 forums.
While some of them are bashing the 350Z and pinning them as "ricers," a good portion of them are giving the 350Z a respectable nod. As you can probably guess, I was among the respecable nodders.

This is the reason why it took so long for me to make my decision.
If I can afford it, I want to buy another car in the future. Lancer Evolution and Impreza WRX STi will be considered, but my choice will be clear, it'll be a 350Z.

I'm 16 also, and I think that the term "rice" has become another hackneyed cliche that is totally generalized and overused now. It seems that you can't even tastefully do your car without somebody calling out rice. I think that everybody has their own taste, and some people don't have good taste, but don't just quickly judge their car of being "rice" because you may not like their body kit. I must admit though, when I see an overdone honda civic or something to that effect, I do laugh and think to myself what a waste of money it is and that I would never drive that. I plan on tastefully doing my car and I am going for a clean, subtle yet effective look that makes you notice.

Oh no, don't get me wrong man. The term "rice" doesn't apply to all import tuners. Like you've mentioned, only the ones with bad taste. If done right, import tuning can be very effective. I'm Asian, man, I know all about that. Not all import tuners are ricers.

Plus, I'm keeping my 2000 Prelude to drive to work and will only use my M3 for weekend joy rides. I wouldn't call my Lude a "ricer rocket." There is a difference. It'll be traded in for a 350Z in the future.

P.S. Nice head on your shoulders for a 16 year old.

I wasn't referring to you; I was just venting a little bit. Through reading many different posts on different boards, it upsets me how out of context the term, "rice" has gotten, and I thank you for your compliment. I try to keep my posts semi-intelligent, but sometimes I let my age shine through...

Hah damn! No offense but I always thought you were in your mid 20's Jpizzle. It's definitely a breath of fresh air to bump into a 16 year old that is a little more articulate and well thought than most of the mid-twenties on this board.

Some people on this board have resentment towards the maturity of ALL younger Z drivers but I beg to differ.

That's another thing that upsets me about this board at times, many members insult the younger generation and just presume that all of us are immature and don't deserve to live. I think they forget that the head admin is a senior in high school

Jpizzle, why do you have the LOR 350Z sketch in your avatar? Were you involved in that whole thing or just a fan?

*mikestro is a big fan of Lor*

Just curious

Actually, the bimmer folks over at dtmpower can be quite immature at times. Also, went to one of their meets and it was lame. The honda people over at s2ki are MUCH more mature then them.

Also, I agree, the people on this forum are great.

Hmm, I went to a meet, was the youngest guy there. ( 18 with my Z, I am 19 now)

I was really impressed, not one comment, question, or remark about my age, at least not that I had herd.

By the time I found the thread, it was all done, but I still read every page, and I laughed my *** off the whole time. When it was revealed that Lor wasn't real, it still affected me the same way it affected you :P (and also I was surprised no1 had used it as an avatar, it's a very nice draw )

If I had the moolah, I'd either be in an M3 or a 996.

Speaking of BMW, there's a couple of hidden eggs on bmwusa.com and one of them pays homage to the Z.

Michael.
