Got my Quaife Diff and 4.08 gears all setup in my spare diff housing. What a pain waiting 2 damn months for a freaking pinion gear shim.....
Got my car up in the air, exhaust out of the way, drive shaft out, sway bar loose.
Tomorrow is the fun of removing the axle bolts, dropping the diff, installing the SPL solid bushings, and reinstalling. All with a timeline b/c of a family BBQ i'm cooking baby back ribs for 16 people.

Well got my quaife and gears are in the car. Got it on the road, put 18 miles on the gears and then letting it sit for a couple hours to cool down. No noise, no drama, can't wait to have the gears fully broken in.
On the bad side, I found that the previous owner's alignment guy has completely flattened one of the rear subframes notches for the eccentric camber adjustment bolts Sooooo I'm gonna pickup another subframe, stuff the SPL solid rear diff bushing into it (fronts are on the diff already) and Solid subframe bushings as well.

Put on snow tires. Went from 285 35 19 rears to 215 55 17s. So sunk in and skinny. Looks funny.
And finally got the air bubble out of my heater core. Now have heat at idle. Awesome.

Its pretty easy on the Z actually. Youll need a pretty big phillips screwdriver. Locate the heater bleed screw near the battery box on the coolant hose. It is black plastic. Not the blue one.
Start your car and get it warmed up. Turn the heater on full blast highest temp setting pointing at vents and floor.
Start slowly unscrewing the screw until you either hear air hissing out and it stops, see coolant come out, see it start bubbling then stops. Once you see one of those things tighten the bleed screw back up. Be careful not to screw it down too tight because the plastic will expand and start to get soft once it gets warm and you will strip the screw if you tighten it up too much.
Go back into the car and rev it around 3000rpm for a few seconds.
Repeat these steps about 3 or 4 times until you dont see it bubbling any more, then go for a drive and try to get the car up around 5000rpm. Park and test your heat at idle. Give it a few minutes and see if your heat is still cold. If it is, you'll need to keep bleeding it. If you keep bleeding and bleeding and air still comes out you either need to add some coolant or there is a place either in your radiator or coolant line where air is getting sucked in.
Good luck.

Got the 350 back from getting turbo installed. So i gave her a well deserved full detail clean and wax. 4 months is a long time to go without having a wash and wax. And i few runs in with the new turbo didnt hurt

Too bad those are all aesthetic/cooling mods none of which would help engine performance. The only thing that would sort of be a performance mod would be the grounding kit but that's debatable.

I know but I'm just starting. I also have a dual exhaust
and changed to denso iridium plugs. my 1/8 mile times
have improved about 1 or 2 tenths of a second. Could also
be colder weather.

You gotta think positive. I know these cars are next to
impossible to make faster when N/A. So got to research this
carefully. My driver mod is a bit off, maybe my shifts are a
little better but reaction time 60 ft. time got worse. nervous
breakdown. I really felt the difference with the torque dampener
even though I installed it in the wrong place.

Anyways I don't feel that it is "too bad". Some mods that appear aesthetic
could be to lay the ground work for future mods. I haven't concluded my
1st level build and will soon be in the high 8's in one eighth mile. As I'm at
9.2 and due to my calculations she is capable of 8.8 or 8.9. Not counting
tires and rims I have invested about $1000. Plus it is a hobby it seems no
matter what someone does people want to argue or criticize. I feel it has
been a success so far. Just wait until I get mo' money.
