Finally finished installing the sound barrier. The doors were the last step.
I added 31 pounds total to the car by doing this, but not really a concern for what I use the the Z for. I only weigh 145 pounds, so unless you weigh less than 176 pounds, you can't criticize me (heh heh).

I did this a while back when I did my audio project. At the time I objected to suggestions to spend more and use dynamat. I wish I did. In the end I went over the doors with a layer of dynamat. Also I came to realize most of the road noise come from the tire wells. It made a world of difference after I took out the well liners and sprayed sound deadening cans in there.

I debated whether to go with dynamat but decided to go with FATMAT and use 2 layers. I also did the wheel wells inside. I'm not sure what well liners you're talking about taking out. Do you mean the ones in the front fenders?
Wuzzup with the coffee themes going on around here?
First, T'bo and his French Press Espresso Americano No Room TEs and now you with your Mocha Frappasheeno??
Lookin' good Mike. Very, uhh, different.
Thanks I think it will go well with the black, dont know how well it will go with the door handles and the fender emblem but we will see...
It's pretty much like oem color if it was brought up on the Jersey shore... Antique brass metallic is the actual name its much nicer then my current brown.
Now I just need to talk myself into these spacers I keep procrastinating about.

2 layers of Fatman is good enough then. I was talking about the exterior of the wheel well when you remove the tires and the liners in the front. I used duplicolor rubberized sound eliminator that you spray on. It made a very noticeable difference. At the end of the day tire brand is a big contributor too. I will swear by hankook ventus v12 evo when it comes to that.
Edit: "rather have 1000whp R34" Yeah ok, sign that $150K check, bub.
R33, I like, but I dont like both the RB or the exterior or the interior styling better than my Nismo.
parts are also $$$$$$$$$
I took a good long while to decide my direction, which included sellign the car and going a completely different route. Like GT350. Or 2003 1000whp Cobra, 600ish whp GTR. Or wait 5 years and do an R33. My heart keeps coming back to the Z, and the Nismo styling is one of my all-time favorites. People like what they like. I've had this thing since new for 9 years as well. Cant part with it.
Also, hardly anyone runs 15-16" wheels full time on the street. You can find better traction with going different suspension routes and then running some sort of larger sidewall 15-16" wheel/tire combo. Which I will.
Which is the setup I will be running. Most +1000whp supra run 15" wheel and large side wall MTs with exceptional traction.
doesnt just stop there, i would rather humor at the idea of 1000 hp with a v8 rather than a v6 block.
much easier and less stressful on a v8 cast iron block than a aluminum block but then again your going to sleeve the block?
probably wont take much mods in terms of cost at the end of the day compared to building the v6 block up......I would assume the v8 block tends to last much longer also....also you have a lot more cubic inches
i hear from the guys running 2jz engines saying in excess of 800 hp basically need to have a backup block....
While I had my door panels off for putting on sound barrier I painted the switch panels with duplicolor stainless steel paint I was considering the silver wheel paint but opted for the SS paint
I almost went with a burgundy color but I am just not cool enough to pull that off... Maybe next time... Its way cheaper to just paint the wheels then it is to have 5 sets laying around...

More space efficient too haha and everyone always think its burgundy... but i just have bad camry handling skills. Its more of a blood red.
Ignore the swirls... old owner didnt take care of it, and havent found anyone close that can do paint correction..

Dude, for the price of HALF of one of your whills, you too can have a Porter Cable polisher (or take your choice) and a full complement of Chemical Guys polishes, buffers, sealers, waxes, and a sock drawer full of MF towels.
Just add elbow grease.
I mean, c'mon, even this lazy dork got off his fat behind!
