would you do all over again?
Theres no question the 350z has been plagued with its fair share of issues. Tire feathering, transmission issues, window motors, master cylinder, rear axle
and the list goes on and on. I bought mine new at the end of 03 and have had tranny replaced, tire feathering, some fuel tank sensor( gas gauge screwed) and there are a number of issues the entire production model has had. Not to mention nissan's service sucks a**. Back then the car wasnt discounted like all sports cars never are. I was actually in sales back then and the store I was in the same owner had a nissan dealership so i got the car for 24,100 less hold back plus the additional tax and tags.I remember back then all the altimas in inventory had to be sent back for an engine replacement which boggled my mind. I've always loved the z and it was the only car on the market that I could see myself making payments for. The performance and style still 5 years later i'am still in love with the car as I was from day 1 but Nissan lacks compared to other car manufacture's. I was always curious what other members thoughts were?

Never buy a first year car, even the '04's still had tire issues.
I bought my second generation Xterra at the end of the year to make sure that the early reports on its redesign were good - they were.
I've had zero issues with my Z or my X.

most HR owners will say that they would do it again. and i would as well. but i've loved the Z's since they rolled out onto the showroom floor. i always wanted one and almost bought an 06' till the dealer told me to wait a week and get the 07 with the new engine... so i did.
I bought my '03 Z on July 1, 2003. I have had no issues with it. It runs and performs perfectly. Sometimes, I think the forums overstate the problems with a car. Cars have problems and a lot of the problems are the way the car is driven and maintained. No one ever goes on the forum to state their car is performing admirably. People go to the forums to lodge complaints if they are having problems.
The Z car is something else man. **** ask me how many issues we had with my 90 300ZXTT...lol. Would I do it again, hell yeah. I don't like to say it because it was a pain in the ***, but you know what? I miss the hell out of driving that car, it was an awesome car to drive.
The 350 is the same thing. I bought it at 19, but its a great tuner car that yes had it's issues but i take it as a learning experience. The thrill of having it and driving it is something you can't compare a lot of things too. All my friends bought either mustangs, evos, or sti's, it was awesome having my Z during that time. Now in my group of friends 3 others bought Z's as well 2 of which had Sti's. There's things they miss but do not regret it either

Would I do it again? I never thought I'd get so involved in the tuner community when I first purchased it. If I had the knowledge then, that I have now, I probably would have bought a used Supra, RX7, or old school NSX and restored it. I'm into the show scene, so this would have been a nice project car...

Mine's been the best new car I've ever owned, and I've owned a ton of cars in the past. The first problem with the car itself (not mod related) I have had was resolved the other day (power window motor). Other than that, it's been a problem free 6 years. No tire feathering, no trans issues, no gas tank issues

I would not have bought my 03 but I would probably buy my 08 HR again.
Then again, with less the 6K on the clock, my temperature sensor failed (repaired under warranty) and already, I can feel a slight rough idle in the engine as well as the passenger side window rolls up slower than the driver side so I anticipate more of Nissan's quality problems in the future.

Would I change that decision? No I wouldn't...I had to do the best for my financial situation. Do I miss the STI however? Hell yeah...there's nothing like AWD with 300+ hp and 330tq to the wheels in a car that could run a 12.3 in the quarter and pin you to the seat when the turbo spooled (mine was Stage 2 protuned)...and the sound of that engine and the turbo spooling...absolutely incredible. Will I own an STI again? You damn right I will...but right now, I have my Z and I love it from its own exhaust rumble down to the burnt orange seats...I mean hell, orange is my favorite color
would I do it over again? hell no, I love change. I want to experience owning many different vehicles.
knowing what I know now, back when I purchased the Z, it wouldn't have stopped me from pulling the trigger.

Honestly when the Z first debuted back in 02/03 Man I was so so so amazed by the fact that they revamped the Z series and loved how the car looked. So back in 03 I decided that it's final that I would save up for a Z and I will drive one. So little did I know I started a savings account every week I'd put half of my allowance away (back in 03 I was 12) and finally the day I graduated from high school (June of 09) I had saved up around 15000 dollars (through part time jobs and work around the house for my parents). And with graduation my parents decided to put 5000 dollars down as well for my down payment. So back in June of 2009 I bought a 05 350Z. LOVED IT and the fact that I saved up over the course of 6 years to get one makes me feel so accomplished. But BUT BUT due to shitty customer service and how the dealership has treated me. MAN i would love to do it all over again this time more carefully at another dealership. (yes I know I'm 18 and I probably will get flamed but at least I saved up for my car and didn't just get a brand new one from my parents.)
As my screen name implies, this is my 3rd Z. The 350, like my previous Zs has been virtually flawless. No car is perfect and the Z is not as bad as some people make it out to be. Remember that you almost never hear from somebody unless they have a problem, nobody rants about a problem-free car.
My only 350Z problem was the tire feathering. I can live with the feathering because I keep it in check with regular alignments plus I go through tires rather quickly.
Buy another? You bet. I'm already keeping my eyes open for a 280Z.

I'm sure alot will do it again, a couple of other threads that were started recently pretained to a slew of members that puchased the 350z from debut time and they were all very happy and still modding.
I just purchased my used one a couple of months ago with no problems so far(knocks on wood).
I came from a civic that first got me modding, fairly cheap habit with that platform.
With the Z, not such a financially friendly atmosphere for upgrades but now, instead of trying to attain a near 300 HP with mods... it's now 400hp plus.
There's no replacing the difference I feel coming from an econobox which is "sporty" when you try (no hate, I loved the civic to death as a teen to adulthood) to a serious sports car (i know the opinions vary across the board whether or not the Z is a true sports car but it is IMO). So I would do it again, in a heartbeat.
Just like your "first"... you never really forget, good or bad.

would i do it again? i want to say know after putting in a clutch on my Z this week after 45,000 miles (2006) and now my A/C not work, but for some reason i keep saying yes, three times so far
I bought my used 04 a year ago and I still love it like the day I got it. I have had my share of problems like my clutch giving out and now a bad 02 sensor but nothing that makes me regret getting this car. so yes i would definately get this car again.
