Talking Today, I felt like I was in a Nissan commercial

So I'm coming home this morning and have to drive past an elementary school. The kids get to be crossing guards there, so there's always at least 6 of them outside. Today as I was coming to a stop at the crosswalk, the kids/guards were out with the flags. They saw me and it felt like everything was in slow motion.

The kids walking across slowed down and just stared and smiled. Then they waved. There was one girl with a flag who literally had her jaw dropped as she just forgot what she was doing and fell in love with the Z. The boys were also slack-jawed and admired the pureness of the Pikes Peak White as the color glistened under the morning sun.

I had to laugh as I continued on my way to the house. It really felt surreal at that moment that my 03 Z can still do that to people, especially kids who probably have no biases but can appreciate a nice sports car.

That story reminds me of a morning last winter when I drove by a school bus stop of about 20 junior high kids.It was still kind of dark so I had the Xenons on and I saw a bunch of them pointing at me so of course I got on it a little bit to let them hear that sexy exhaust note. Then after I went buy I thought to myself damn that must have looked and sounded nice.

The Z still turns a lot of heads especially with a sweet looking one like yours.
If you think that was a lot of attention, take it to a high school right when they get off school. You would be amazed. I used to pick up my son from school in my Z but I decided to use my beater Galant now because there was too much attention and sometimes I felt like I was showing off.

I did that, too. It got more attention.

Thanks, Ben. I think the white attracts more attention, IMHO.

I live about 3 blocks from the HS, but I rarely drive past it. Too much traffic from the kids.

That's what's great about kids. They have more appreciation for the generalities of a nice car and compliment it by just admiring the car.

That's probably one of the few moments I wouldn't be **** about hand prints.

Ahh I cringe at the thought. I dont mind interest or appreciation, I do it all the time however I also know not to touch.

Looks lead to finger prints, finger prints lead to scratches, scratches lead to dings, dings lead to vandalism and then theft... ok well maybe not that far ha-ha. j/k

kids definitely love the Z... put a "free candy" sign on that bish and chris hanson will be on you in three seconds.

By the way, if y'all haven't seen it; you guys should check out the compliments thread. It's in this section too. Lots of ish in there.

Compliments from kids are the best, like SmoothZ said, they have no biases. One of the best compliments I've gotten was just a thumbs up from a bunch of kids playing out in their yard.

kinda creepy....

I've commented in the 'compliment thread' before. Good stuff and great reading.

Like I said, the 'moment' this morning was surreal and I chuckled all the way home. I love my Z!

Hmm if everything felt like it was in slow motion, you probably shouldn't drink and drive.

lol jk. Yeah I'm used to that. I live in the burbs. Surrounded by schools!

man, that's awesome.

I remember when I was a kid, turboII rx-7's, old school supra's, and z cars had the same effect on me- and at the time I knew nothing about what made them so awesome, I just knew I liked them.

funny enough- I have had a TII rx-7, and a 350z.

you my friend just planted that sportscar seed in those young minds!!!

The seed has already been planted in at least one of my sons. He likes all things about cars, and he's only 4. My oldest is just beginning to get into indoor karting.

yoshe - blue was my first color choice for the Z, but I just couldn't find one in the area that was the right price. I finally got my current toy:
