Default First snow today... :(

Well, it started snowing here today. And lots of it. Makes me just feel dirty driving her around in this weather, so I guess i'll be storing her soon... not sure where though.

On the upside, i might pick this up for a winter beater

I would think that an older AWD SUV would make more sense. They can be bought cheap now.

They're manageable payments, and if my grades slip car is bye bye until they're up, so it's a pretty fair trade off

Yeah, I got you.

I suppose it is too late to point out that a rear wheel drive sports car is probably not the best car to have as your only vehicle in a part of the world with anything but mild winters?

Haha ah ya. But i'm a teenager so for the most part i just think about the present. I'm thinking with the money i've spent/spending, I probably could've got a pretty decent truck thats good all year in weather.

But then summer rolls around and the z is out and i forget about it.

I'm kinda like you, I'm 20 and my 350Z is my only car but the difference is that I don't have a daily drive. I live on campus and walk to class. No FWD sedan necessary.

I am in Minnsota and I drive my 350Z all-year with no problem. Minnesota is known for cold temperatures from November to March with some significant snowfalls.

Of course I run studless snow tires (a dedicated wheel/tire setup) during the winter months.

When snow depths exceed 4", I park the car until the the streets are plowed.

I really enjoyed driving the Z in the snow. It's all of the salt and cinders and other harmful stuff that finally got me to buy another car as a DD this year (Subaru WRX). I must say I'm really looking forward to having AWD this winter. I think I can still make pretty fun work out of a snow-covered parking lot with the WRX.

Subaru's are awesome in the snow! I also had a Audi 1.8T quattro that I had snow tires on and the car was unstoppable.
