^^^ wow, I would have to say that's the most difficult way to tell. Unless you are intimately familiar with both models look and feel, that's not going to work. 99% of the people trying to figure out the answer have never seen/felt both.

Fair enough, the 2003s have a grey instrument panel, the 045 have a black one.

I'm getting my checked/adjusted annually. Every time I've taken it it, I've gone from toe-in to toe-out.
ive had some of my vehicles allignment bolts welded down so they cant readjust themselves to crazy settings like; /'''''\ instead of [''''']. alignment just doesnt hold up when jumping a 6000lb vehicle with 3 foot tires.

2004.5 passenger seat has a seat belt retainer clip correct. 2004 does not.

2004.5 has a "hood open" warning light correct? 2004 does not.

No "hood open" warning on either. The 03s had the hood switch installed, but it was never wired to the alarm system. It was removed for the 04 and beyond.

As old as the Z's are now becoming, I really doubt there is much difference in reliability among the various years. Most problems will have been resolved. Proper maintenance is now the most important factor in my mind. If the various owners have maintained the car properly, any Z should be a pretty reliable car. If the car has been trashed and run hard, expect a lot of problems.
