I wish everyone can see what i hit, it so weird and people hit it all the time. Such a ridiculous intersection.

Thanks for the support everyone.
Class of '04 here. I know exactly which intersection you're talking about. So you were going left, like back towards Shortlidge? And they were going left too? That's only one lane through the turn, correct? Just trying to follow what you were saying.

But yeah I agree that intersection is definitely whacky. And I can just picture two ricers tearing down Beaver and "drifting" through the left turn down the hill.

Glad you are OK. Good luck with the car and be safe in Iraq.

Please excuse the crappy picture. I really really suck at Microsoft Paint. But yeah, he locked it up and I think to avoid hitting me, he pulled to the inside of me, I tried to give him a little room but smacked the weird curb there. Anyone that has been here and observed this curb will tell you it is awkward.

I took pictures of the car today, But I just left the gym and I am at the HUB and do not have the camera on me, I will post them when I get home. I don't think it is to bad. That is why we have insurance I guess. On a side note, the guy at the dealership is best friends with an old friend from the Army. We talked awhile and found out that he is getting home soon from Kuwait. So at least the good that came from it is that I will see him again. The world is a small place. Also I will start attending his church this weekend. This is I guess a turn towards the good side.

Sorry to hear OP, I don't think it was a "fault" as much as an understandable distraction. Too bad you didn't get plates, that would have helped. Hope it all works out.

G/L in Iraq, too. Thanks for your service.
How was that not a hit and run?

I don't think the guy in the other car ever made contact with _DONOVAN_'s car, if I read it correctly. Donovan veered to the left into a curb in an attempt to get out of the other guy's way because I thought he would get rear-ended while in motion, which would have posed a higher risk of injury I'm sure. So if the other guy never made contact with the OP, then technically it's not a hit and run.

What I want to know is why a Chevy Cavalier is racing. Those barely break 100 mph.

Yeah when you combine its 115 hp and FWD it owns.....

I don't like cadavaliers at all cuz the people that live downstairs get the one and only garage for their cavalier junker while my perfect condition 350Z has to park on the street.

Thanks for the comments guys. I am trying to get this car fixed, but I am having problems with the insurance company. I have never had an accident and just from dealing with this adjuster, I pray I never will again.

First problem is my bumper. The curb scraped it some but because it had some road rash under the front of it from being lowered and hitting speed bumps, he says it isn't worth much and may just give me $100 and let me decide how to fix it. WTF. What is that going to do.

Then the fender. The tire pushed the plastic fender well into the fender and tweaked it a bit. This guy is looking at all angles for "ding" or imperfections and telling me that this fender isn't of value. What, this "divit" i think he called it, I could not see. And he was trying to show me for ten minutes. But it is in the section that is tweaked. What is he trying to pull.

And the Wheels. The wheels I have are discontinued. OK, well I know this is going to be a problem. he wants to buy me some refurbished OEM wheels that are 17 inch, or pay me $179 per wheel and "let me figure out what to do." OK, well first of all the wheels I have now are 18 inch and staggered. How is this solution good, or even going to work at all. And $179 per wheel, so $716 to find my own wheels and tires, or maybe just wheels. Come on, I see this happening. yeah right.

IDK, I never had to deal with this before. This guy makes me nervous though. talks very fast and is always saying "you'll be fine with that" before I even get to answer. So I need to pay attention to everything he is saying and doing. I hope I can get this all worked out.

I will have pics up tonight when I find my adapter.

Yeah, he basically was going to rear end me, or try to make that one lane two wide. I left of the break a little to give him room but hit that curb instead.

It is at the ford place on Benner Pike. Come to think of it, I should take it to Black Walnut, they are crazy expensive but do amazing work.

^+1 on that man, they did a great job for me and you are only going to kick yourself when the shop does a crap job and you have to live with it. Also which Z up here is yours, there are a few up here, most of the drivers are unappreciative of what they have, makes me sad, its good to know there is at least one other Z owner in the know up here.

Most vehicle codes state that you cannot avoid a collision just to create another one... meaning, just because you think it was the cavalier's fault for getting close to you, it was your own decision to hit the curb. If the cavalier HAD hit you, it would be a no-brainer, but if an officer had been present, chances are you would be either warned or cited for distracted driving resulting in property damage. (or something to that effect)
