Default Wrecked the Z tonight. WTF

I say it is not my fault, but it is.

This happened in State College PA. I just left the gym, worn out and tired. coming from a one way on Beaver Ave to where it merges back in a two way at College Ave. The roads splits right into a two way or left into a one way towards campus. I was going left. in the middle of the "T" there is a concrete island. I am making the left when I hear the rev of some cars and I see my mirrors filling up.

A Cavalier and a mustang are racing behind me. As I am making the left, so are they. The cavalier brakes hard and instead of rear ending me he pulls toward the inside of me, which isn't going to work either. I look up for a second and leave of my break a little to give us a few inches.

BAM, I just hit the concrete island. I almost missed it but I hit it. WTF. soooo, my wheel gets smashed and something broke underneath. I think it is called the traverse link. IDK but it seems like the upper a arm, only the bottom. Whatever that is.

Well, this is my first accident ever. Wasn't sure what to do, the cavalier drove off, the mustang i think took a quick right and headed out of town. I didn't get a license plate number. I also had to wait around in the cold for hours in sweaty shorts and shirt. Oh yeah, found out yesterday that I am deploying to Iraq,... again.

All in all, yes i know this is my fault. I should have not been distracted by the car coming and I should have held my line, and all that. But, this sucks. Also my rims that are on the car, I don't think they insurance will cover. But i don't know, never been in this situation before. This sucks. That is my rant.

Hate stupid ricers racing on streets. At least you're okay. Hope it'll be a short trip to Iraq. I wish you the best of luck.

that is f**ked up... if you have full coverage and they cover hit and runs then hopefully you can file a claim and get your car fixed. Sadly your rates will go up, but the best part is that your okay and live.

Best of luck

Don't think it was a hit and run, from what I read anyway...

Sorry to hear OP, I don't think it was a "fault" as much as an understandable distraction. Too bad you didn't get plates, that would have helped. Hope it all works out.

G/L in Iraq, too. Thanks for your service.

Too bad all college towns aren't so forthright when naming streets near the sorority houses . . .

Sounds like you were ran into the concrete barrier by the cavalier, sounds like he is at fault, not you. You acted to prevent a collision between you and the other driver

That sucks. I wouldn't say it's entirely your fault, but may be hard to prove that to insurance.

I didn't get hit, it was about as close as you can come though. I was trying to avoid being rear ended, but hit the curb. The car is getting towed to a dealer right now, I will go talk to them and take some pics as well. And that comment about beaver had me rolling.

I wish everyone can see what i hit, it so weird and people hit it all the time. Such a ridiculous intersection.

Thanks for the support everyone.

Oh I get it now you saw them coming and to avoid getting hit you dodged them but damaged your car in the process I understand. Best of luck to you I would be frustrated beyond belief!

Hope the damage isnt as bad as it sounds

Always let them hit you, then they pay for your car , not you.

My friend just told me about this a few hours ago and asked me if I knew who it was. Didn't know it was a member, I'm glad you're okay. He lives in the building right across from Canyon, and was walking down the street to our friend's house who lives right after that turn, but you stay to the right and go straight instead. He couldn't believe his eyes. I've been saying that turn is goofy for years, I'm suprised more people don't get into trouble over there.
