Almost crashed my car.
So I'm assuming you have a Base then, with no Traction control at all? If so, you need to stay on your toes at all times when adding power.
If this is the first bit of rain you have had in the area for a while, then the roads will be very slippery until it has been raining a couple of days. You won't see any oil on the road, but if it has been dry for long time, then it is there.
I don't think this is bad. I'm using my stock tires on my '06 and they still have plenty of grip in the wet.
Plenty warm for summer tires, so that wasn't your problem.
Bottom line is you just went too fast and you got lucky. Seriously consider my initial advice. Autocross your car in a variety of conditions. I was fortunate last Friday to have a club practice day. It rained off and on during the day. The track would be wet and very slippery and then gradually dry out and be fast, then rain again and be slippery. We got about 100 runs in that day. Great learning experience to see exactly how the car handles under a variety of conditions in a situation where you aren't going to kill yourself or others.
5. Roads wet raining all day at the time light rain. Paint on road for the cross walk. I went back where this occurred to see if there was any oil but couldn't tell.
6. Brigdestone Pontenza 3 or 4 years old
7. 65 degrees around noon with summer tires.
