I used to have a 2000 SS and currently have an '05Z, and the SS got more compliments than the Z does by far.

Having owned both I really miss my LS1, and would stick with the Camaro, if you really just want to get something different, why not a Corvette, maybe an '04 Z06?

but I can't deny these facts :

1- my car has ugly interior comparing to the z
2- my car has a very bad handling
3- the camaro is not comfortable as a daiy driving car.. I only drive it at weekends, and when I get home, I usualy tired from the hard driving (m6) and the loudness of the raspy exhaust .
4- the z looks somehow better than the camaro
5- since I got married , I stopped street racing and still love sports cars and I want a car that I drive it whenever I want !! not only at weekends !!

Also, this is a good thread for some general information on the different year and model Z's:

I don't know if you guys agree with me or not !!!?!!?

Having never owned a muscle car but grown up in a family that did/does, it sounds like the 350z would be a good fit for you. It has enough power stock to get around. It handles GREAT out of the box and can always be improved. Despite the 350z styling being almost seven years old now, it still looks good and continues to turn heads.

Best bet for you is to go and test drive one, or bug a friend who has one to let you drive it and get a feel for it. Then you can properly make your own decision if its the right move for you.

Also, this is a great resource for learing about the 350z and its different options, models, etc.

Are z28's supposed to be faster than '03 z's?? I'm asking because me and my friend with a 97 z28 took a couple of runs and I took him everytime haha just wondering. We went from a complete stop, a 60 roll, and once I even gave him a two car lead on a roll and still took him

on paper they are very close, it really is a drivers race, before i was boosted i never had a problem with ls1's ...as long as u can properly drive the z which i see is a problem for many according to videos on the internet..

ls2's are a much better race for a n/a z

Or....you could move on and not even participate in the thread. When you are watching TV and a rerun comes on, what do you do? Sit there watching and complaining or change the channel?

Last I knew this was a discussion forum where people discuss things.

ETA SInce I own a Z I'm going to recommend that. A good friend has a Trans Am (similar) and although it has a lot of torque which is fun, that is only one aspect of driving. The Z as others have said is much more nimble. In addition, I get compliments on my car from strangers on a daily basis.

I had a procharged 2000 Z28, which blew up in my driveway, almost killed me. (Fuel line rupture)That was when I said screw the muscle, I'm going import, and got a GST Eclipse. After owning that, I traded it in with 140k miles on it, still going strong. GOT THE 2004.5 Z. Since then, every day, I have a smile on my face while driving. That was 2.5 years ago. Still love it. I liked my Z28, but I am here to tell you, I get more looks and compliments from people for my 350, than I ever did with the Z28. Plus, they are not as common around here. I love it. Handles great, insurance is good, and fuel....omfg that LS1 drink that stuff like I drink beer..... You won't regret your purchase. Get rid of the Z28.

I've owned a Camaro and now a Touring 350ZR By comparison the older Camaros handle like a truck - not sure about the new one. I am in a 6 banger 2010 RENTAL Rustang this week while my Z is in the body shop getting some customization done... Between me and the fence post the mustang handles like a truck too...

For a drive to work there is nothing as exhilarating for the money as a Z... A sweeping on ramp to the freeway and the Z will walk away from almost everyone and be a 1/2 mile down the freeway before the followers exit the ramp. What a wake up call!

so if you own a z28, shouldn't you be in a z28 forum, and my brother has a camaro and envy's my 03 track and he thinks mine drives like a dream compared to his. you will only get worse gas mileage if you are playing around on the road, if you drive right, you get way better gas mileage than you're saying...and with the cost, it seems like when my bro hit 100k miles with his Maro, everything was downhill for him.....EVl...get the Z.

go with the z. may not be as fast but you can change that. z looks better hands down than the older camaro's plus handles better. the only chevy i would consider would be the c5 vettes.

Ummm, why arent you looking at used Vettes! The 05 LS2's are really really cheap now.

The 350Z is just as impractical as a one. Might as well get a Vette. I cant wait to pay my car off and get my LS3!!

The Vette is better looking, gets more respect, handles better and is LIGHTYEARS faster.

Please OP dont consider a Z unless you really just like the car personally. Most people trade there Z's in for Vettes...Remember that.
