D1GP was the first time ever that Irwindale sold out. Couldnt even walk through that place that day.

Expect to see me (working for Falken) at all west coast events they are at.

And...hopefully DTDirect will be buildig our very own Drift car!

pretty sure they have some but I don't know how close or far apart they are. Plus I think it is a close parking lot to the public.

Cops will hassle you for using empty lots. If you can find something in an unincorporated town maybe? My friends have been stopped before...but they certainly look down on it less than street racing. They usually just tell you to take off. STAY away from lamp posts. lol.

Next So Cal drift event...Im bringing my current ride. Camaro SS. I think it would be hilarious to be the only Domestic there. My ride is very stiff, set up to corner, 400+ at the wheels, and I obviously get my tires pretty cheap here. Hmmmm, I think Im on to something. Ive spent the past two years trying to get this thing to go straight when I slam the gas. Shoot...lets just keep it sidewayz

watch out for them lil parking blocks on the floor also... my friend ran over it once while drifting at night time and scratched up his front skirt and bent his chassis a lil bit... nothing major tho. the sound was a different story

If you all haven't seen the Japanese Anime Initial D, I'd highly highly recommend it. Its all about this kid who drives a Toyota Corolla 86 and drift races better cars down various mountain passes in Japan.

The coolest part of the Anime are the race scenes where they use actual racing techniques.

The Anime has made more than $300 million in Asia alone.

Incidentally, for anyone that went to the D1GP, during the final rounds, when the crowd started chanting "do it again! do it again!" it was because of Initial D.

For those of you that weren't there, during the final round there was an Toyota Corolla AE 86 going up against the Signal Drift team's Silvea. The 86 is the car driven by the protagonist (hero) in Initial D. The racing format was three laps, one warm up, then one car leads while the other tries to pass on the drift and for the final lap they switch positions.

Well after the three laps were finished, the Silvea had clearly won. But the crowd got on its feet and started shouting "do it again, do it again" obviously because they wanted to see the 86 win. So they went around again and again and on the last lap the 86 crowded the Silvea during the drift and effectively put it into the wall.

The crowd wents nutz and I was in shock. I mean, the 86 clearly put the silvea into the wall. Whatever, it was all for fun anyways. I saw that Silvea, fixed up, running in Toronto a few weeks later.

Seeing Inital D is what got me so pumped up on drifting. I weep for my Potenzas when my VDC's off. But theres nothing quite like the feeling of getting sideways at 80 mph while you're still in control (well, usually). Heh heh...

yooda, I think the 86 was against the HKS Silvia in the finals not the Signal Silvia. The Signal lost like 2 rounds ago. Man that was a good show too bad the previous show wasn't anything like it.

G*Rated{350z}, hahaha I wouldn't mind going but damm I don't know what to do. I will just watch you guys.
