Finally fixed the harsh ride/bounce in my Z

I couldn't have said it better myself. It is strange that a Mercedes is a better looking car than a BMW. But with the S class that came out about 4 or 5 years ago, MBZ has a great looking flagship. New SL 500 is pretty cool. C class looks like a little S. E is still not my favorite, but it sure is better looking than that new 5-series with the cat eyes and hunchback.
And I think you are right about BMW owners. I was one for a long time. They just can't give up the habit. Inside, the cars are still nice (except for that confusing **** that runs all the interior goodies through the NAV screen). And they probably perform just as well too. However, it was my experience that each new generation of BMWs gets a little softer and less sporting. Trying to compete with Lexus, I guess.

LOL. I agree about the Audi's too. RS6 beats the hell out of M5.
I have been thinking about writing an open letter to BMW, and sending to all the car magazines. They lost a loyal customer with those hunchback design of theirs. I think they should know why.

I would make a poll here on my350z.com asking how we like the new generation of BMW designs vs the last. When you send an open letter to BMW with this data included, it gives them a survey of an entire population of consumers vs one guys opinion.
Your opinion is an important one, after all, you had many of their cars before your Z but the other data is helpful too.

Ok this thread has turned for the better instead of useless bashing so i am back, I think you guys would be interested to know that everyone on the bmw forums hates the new designs as well. There are a few that say they like the designs but i think they are just trying to be loyal or some bull. Pretty much everyone hates chris bangle and there has been petitions going aroudn to give your email and a short comment to show bmw that people are unhappy. There are also critics of the E46 m3 since it has become big, heavy, bulky, compared to the 4 cylinder e30 that took the racing world by storm. The e46 m3 was really the first m3 to have understeer. A lot of people on the boards say the e36 and e39 will be the last bmw's they buy. One of many reasons why i'm going with a 350z....

I think(hope) that as more good looking and well performing cars come from audi, mercedes, lexus, infinity, then it will draw loyalists to bmw away. If u look back in the early days of the e36 and e39, imo there really weren't any other cars that looked that good and performed well. Now it seems like bmw is trying to break away from the other car companies with thier designs but unfortunately i think that bold step is not a good one and thier sales will eventually suffer.
If I had to get a 3-Series, I'd spring for the 330i with the Performance package. It's the next best thing to an M3 coupe, and it even comes with alcantara-covered steering wheel.
But a Z is much more affordable. A Z is intended to be more of a sports car than the 330 is, but you can't really go wrong with either one unless you're picky about some detail or other...I love both cars.
