Default I will never buy another nissan product, ever.

Well, Today was the final straw. The CD Player on my Bose system just stopped working. It worked less than an hour ago, and now it won't read ANY CD. This is pathetic.

After dealing with Window streaks,Tire feathering, A tranny that grinds at least once a day,and a few other problems, I think I've finally thrown up my hands.

This is the worst car I have ever owned, Period.

I Love the Z, or rather, I love what the Z should be. The fact is however, time and time again I seem to be reminded that Nissan can't engineer for ****.

What really gripes me is the damn transmission, I mean, Jesus, its a thirty thousand dollar car, the transmission should NEVER, EVER, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE (Minus changing gears without pushing the clutch in) grind. PERIOD. I Took My Z to the dealer, left it there for over a week, only to get the response of "Well, We can't seem to get it to grind, sorry, tough luck."

Now the CD player just up and breaks.

The sound system sounded like **** from the word getgo...I guess it isn't that much of a loss. I also Noticed that the rubber weather strippping around the windows is starting to peel off/rub off from where the window seals itself a little everytime you shut the door.

My car has a little over 11k Miles, and is about 4 months old now.

I Fully intend on taking it to the dealer, having them fix the transmission, and if they cant, taking it back, again, until they do. I also think I'm going to contact my lawyer dealing with lemon laws in my state.

The Z makes me sick.

wow man, tough luck,

i've had my z for 3 months now, with 2600 miles and not one problem yet, i mean the streaks on the windows are annoying but i know its allright, i can deal. But i'm sorry to hear that your tranny and other stuff are comming apart. Lemon laws are good, just keep complaining and you'll get whatever you want.

let us know the status and good luck brotha

whats comforting for me, is that everyone else basically has the same problems (tranny, stereo, window grease). Rather than focus on these negative things, I ignore them. The Z is still a bad a$$ machine. Take your anger out towards the dealer. There IS a proper fix for the tranny. It's called a new one. And make sure you get the proper one ( I believe theres three). The stereo? Get it fixed. Give your dealer hell, if they dont help you call NNA.

It's not that bad man. We just tend to focus on the negative.

The dealer I go to is the same one I bought the car from...

...And I know the owner of the dealership personally.

It's not that they don't treat me right, it's that a new car like this should not have so many problems.

My previous comment about the tranny, and then the service managers response is not out of anger towards the dealer, I honestly believe that they couldn't get the tranny to grind, because it only does it once a day or so. However, it shouldn't do it at all. The fact of the matter however, is that it does.

And, in order to get the problem fixed, I have to leave my car there, for a extended period of time.

Sorry for the violent post guys, I'm just fed up with all of the hassle.

Sorry to hear of your fustration. It's still a great car. Fist year bugs can be worked out and I believe Nissan will do that for you. They are not the fastest, but with patience, you will get your just reward! Don't give up

sorry to hear about your problems Hopfully they will be resolved soon!>

Just as an FYI I have an '04 and I dont have any of these issues (tranny, stereo, window grease). Tranny shifts fine, Stereo sounds great (when playing a CD, radio is just OK), and I have no grease on my windows.

I have the window grease problem which I'll get fixed eventually. I see that as cosmetic and not that important. The radio does suck but expected that (not Bose system). You do have to be patient with first year cars. I got burnt bad with a first year MR2 Spyder. Threw a rod and had the entire engine replaced under warranty. I made sure to get the extended warranty on the Z for any problems that may surface in the future.

as bad as your situation is try buying a $60k bmw or a $75k mercedes and having worse problems.

the z is not the only player in this game, unfortunately.

Don't buy a first year car and not expect it to have kinks.

How about instead of never buying Nissan again, you go ahead and never buy a car until it has been out 2 or 3 years.

Hmm, I thought there was. Regardless, if you're having tranny problems you should remind them there is a WARRANTY! Dealers suck!!

From what others have experienced with their tranny's it sounds like the grinding will get worse or more frequent. Drive it until you can reproduce it at will. Being a software engineer and a bug is reported I must be able to reproduce before I can find the cause.

Once you can reproduce at will then call in a favor from your friend that owns the dealership. He can get it fixed for you. Play the game and make the system work for you.

DIDO. It seems to me that most people are having problems with the dealer and not with Nissan...it's completely not fair to blame Nissan in these instances. I made sure before I bought the car that I met every mechanic in the place. I was impressed, and so I bought it from them even though it's a 30 mile drive. If I have any problems at all, they are instantly on it. I can say nothing but good things about my Nissan...and it certainly won't be the last either!

Ok, if you are not going to buy a Nissan, then tell me a car company that does not have problems. I will enjoy this, it will be interesting!
